Hello all,
I'm looking for some help after I've managed to somehow lose my hinges for my sandblasting cabinet.
I've got one of these small bench top cabinets:
I took the lid off to replace the acrylic screen and managed to lose the hinges in the process. I don't know why I just didn't leave...
Hi all,
Hope everyone has had a great start to the new year!
I've only just got the wiring upgraded in my garage to 32A and had a chance to try out the motor.
The motor itself is wired via the starter to a 16A breaker - and it trips every time..
There was a little pink slip inside the motor...
The Stenhøj pump seems to be better than expected.
However, I turned the pulley by hand a few times and noticed air coming out of the breather and suspected the worst - bad rings or bore.
I started stripping the pump and to my surprise, there seemed nothing out of whack; especially for a 1980's...
Am I missing something or are these still the same symptoms?
If the tank is being filled up in a reasonable time, then surely the pump is alright? If not, you wouldn't be able to reach cutout pressure on the first try.
I think your motor is kaput. Partially high resistance in one coil could mean the motor is no longer making 3HP and overheating under load causing it to shut off.
Have you checked your resistances between the windings and any shorts to ground?
So I've managed to pick up this tank of a compressor on the bay of fleas after @roofman suggested I go cast iron:
I believe it's a Stenhøj K66A pump from this video:
The pump on mine reads "100700" which is the same as the one presented in the video.
There is a plate on the pump with a...
Awesome, thanks for the input so far.
I’ll try and polish up the bored to get something somewhat functional whilst I look for a cast iron unit.
I was contemplating just hooking up a pump and motor to the existing 100L tank I have. It’s been kept in decent shape given how much oil had been...
Hi all,
Reaching out to you guys that may know more about compressors than I do!
I recently purchased a second hand SIP 100L 3HP twin v style compressor. It had a fair bit of oil in the tank when I first drained it.
So I did a complete strip down and restored it - made new gaskets, replaced...
Hi there!
I'm new to the forums and looking to get into sand blasting as well.
How large is your tank for the 14cfm compressor? I'm thinking of just having one 15cmf ~ compressor with a pressure pot - do you think this would be adequate?
