Sorry I can’t be of any more help. Don’t know too much about these engines, other than general servicing of them. Maybe @doubleboost could give you some help. I think he has one of these?
I have a 2006 Partner with the 1.6Hdi fitted. I’ve had a similar issue where the engine power would cut for a split second occasionally from cold, whilst accelerating. It would also occasionally take ages to crank into life from a cold start. I have one of the cheapy code readers and it showed...
Neutral cure can be used in many applications, you just have to read the specs to make sure it’s suitable. Like others have said, the Dow products seem very good in my opinion.
I always leave feedback and most businesses have it automated to leave straight away. I have noticed that I rarely seem to receive feedback after selling anything though. Probably less than half of the people bother. Bit annoying but not much you can do. I never chase anything up though...
Top left, as others have said. Start pumps/motor and or power light. I’m guessing that the bottom centre is a clamp/unclamp of something. Axis locks perhaps?? Arrow heads pointing towards each other would be clamped.
It may be possible to use a light cutting oil for parting operations, drilling/tapping etc but you would have to consider the potential fire risk of neat oil with hot swarf flying around. Perhaps not such a good idea? Another option would be to use a coolant mister or minimum quantity lubricant...
Those ‘BandFacer’ machines are a good tool and you can remove material very quickly. They just get your job really warm, really fast  When fitting a new belt I always struggle getting it to track in the middle of the rollers. Not sure if it’s because the machine I’ve used is worn or...
Welcome along! If you’re trying to weld to steel that’s not clean, ie still a bit rusty and thin you will just keep chasing a hole. Cut back a bit further to better material if possible. Plus all the above points.
That’s a big no no according to the operator handbook. Apparently it can cause damage to the valve seats. Also the bore will get a good washing with diesel as the fuel pump tries to maintain its set speed as it slows down.
They weigh around 52kg iirc, so yes a considerable lump of iron.
I think it’s a Petter AVA1. A little older than the PH range perhaps, although I do believe production overlapped slightly. The cylinder and injector are a little different on the PH and the AVA engine displacement is a wee bit smaller too. Very good engines when they’re not worn out. That looks...
That’s a really sturdy bit of kit you’ve made Dan. Can’t see that giving way in a hurry. Would probably rip the shears out before busting that :clapping: Will you use some card or anything between that and the bed as protection or not worry about it?
Yes you would need a small finger clock. Don’t think they’re a lot of money, especially a cheapy one. As said regarding accuracy and using engineers blue. Clocking gets you close, checking with blue gets you spot on ( as long as it isn’t put on like Bet Lynch’s makeup )
