Thanks for this, I struggled removing mine too. Spent hours trying to figure out.
So Lincoln cast the housing of the migtorch the plastic bits. Bernard soldered and created the brass tubing and fittings. And tweco type fitting on the end of the torch.
I took entire torch apart only to find...
Thats what I thought too! Looked far too rough on the edge of that diamond mounting plate, Definitely think there was a 4th hole for mounting. Also noticed the ball missing too. I think when we take that one partially apart today will be scraping out the old grease n such and think of a...
Also, while taking this apart I found more the number 7 on several parts. I can only assume this was to match it with this vise ?
Also found this brand or name on the back of the teeth.
Nice n clean now. :p There were over 7 different layers of paint on this! Its been Green, red, orange, blue, black, white, beige. Stripped it back to baremetal in some bits and applied rustconverter and that made it look like a fresh coat of black paint. Regreasing it today, as I had to scrape...
Thanks! :p:p Will do! Kinda unfortunate, I was lookin forward to doing work on it but it arrived in perfect condition which I cant really complain about haha. I'll just scrub up that parkinsons model f size#7 instead I guess next its sunny. :D
Really curious as to what make this blacksmith...
Nice! It just arrived now. I'm actually tempted to not scrub it at all. Its in crazy good condition. Opens n closes no trouble. Suuper smooth and the teeth can grip a piece of paper without it moving. Light wont show through this and i've not even tightened it too much.
Its possible it was taken apart for the screw to be cleaned perhaps but wasnt put back together properly. I'm a little amazed that the screw is so clean, which is why I think it was taken apart. I'll have a play with it when it gets here and let you guys know how it does.
Yeah my first thought too. Then I checked all the measurements and nothing was 5 anything. I wonder if Elusivemite has a 5? Or perhaps another number in same location.
Anyone know what this is? Just found the number while scrubbing it down with a brush.
It has a " 5 " on the slide. Couldnt find any other numbers anywhere else. You guys know what the 5 stands for?
