Want to do a bit of aluminium so thinking of a spool gun, seem to range fom €50 to €800, not interested in the real cheap ones made frrom Chinesium , I have a SIP HG 2300DV which I like very much, lots of guns seem to have 3/4 pin plugs, my SIP has a 5 pin, I presume adapters are available, any...
Hello knowledgable people, I bought a SIP HG2300DV Mig/Tig/Stick welder last year, doing nicely with it but want to do a bit of Tig, my issue is that the torch is a manual only, no trigger and manual gas flow, ie, there is no facility to set the welder to give me pre and post gas etc and it's...
There will also be different thicknesses of washers depending on type of injector, I found a lot of them are punched and so have been hardened somewhat in manufacture. Make sure the seat is clean and level, if needed recut, I usually anneal all copper injector seat washers as a matter of course.
Interested on views on what to buy, I am currently using a 1963 Triangle 180 that my late father bough new ( Still with the original chipping hammer and earth clamp!) and I also have Lidls best MIG toy , which I've never liked. I do a bit of general work like gates etc and some repairs. Fancy...
No reply because you can't! you've mentioned testing I asked where? I refer to Luddites as a general attitude to people who are afraid of advances in design or change of practice, then again if you class yourself as one who am I to question it, you know yourself better than anyone. Constructive...
No cutting corners, Where exactly do you think I'm doing that? No wonder the great tradition of invention and innovation has
left the UK behind, and there was me thinking the luddites were long gone. Where are trailers being MoT tested that are under 750Kg? The other thing is that these unit...
What is "doing something you shouldn't"? Not doing anything wrong or against the law, Who is saving money? Cant buy anyething similar! Good job inventors of old didn't think like you or we'd still be thinking about the wheel!
My units cant pull apart because the reaction bar is in the middle of 2 mounting units unlike the usual ones with the stub axle mounted on the end only. The usual ones available have no other means of holding them in except the resistance! No need to freeze rubbers, I use a cone and silicon...
Old thread but any interest??? I have made several suspension units, I have made up a screw press to "Load" the 30mm square section into the 50mm box alongside the 18mm &0 shore ribber cord.
Made my own units with 50mm box iron, 30mm square section and 18mm 70 shore rubber cord, easy and cheap, made a press to push the reaction bar into the units with a tapered "lead in" cone. These are my 360o swivel axle units, 500Kgs.
7 Starting to press the shaft in, 8 Cone emerging from the other end, 9 Cone off showing end of reaction bar, 10 Shaft fully inserted in housing, 11 2nd unit being fitted, 12, finished suspension unit, just to make 360 swivel with a heavy duty stub and bearing.
