Yes I bought one, just had to hunt for a supplier selling one in lpm. Seems really well made, it's quite heavy. Mine didn't come with a hose, but IIRC Welding Supplies Direct do a 3m one, which I think is better than the much shorter ones available on Amazon.
The offcut I had was light coloured softwood, don't know more than that, pine perhaps. Just a length of ~2"x2". Not sure what the crate was, much darker in colour inside, but that may have been due to age or the action of the woodworm.
Just had another look; realistically too unstable so it's gone in the skip - can't burn where I am.
Shame, but lesson learned; if I pick another one up I'll treat it straight away.
They had a bunch at a wine shop in France and I picked one up on the way out, realising it'll help protect the bottles on the ferry. I'd say it holds some sentimental value, will see how stable it is after drying out a bit more then decide on binning or staining.
Don't have any paint or stain to protect it further, considering ordering this on Amazon to then treat outside asap; https://www.amazon.co.uk/400ml-Crystal-Clear-Matt/dp/B001W03PS6/ref=cm_wl_huc_item
Expecting the crate had woodworm in when I bought it in France, I'd left it in the car so the...
Can't upload the photo of the pile of wood dust I knocked out for some reason getting errors, even tried changing the format to .png... It was a lot of dust though, surprised me how much they've eaten of it.
Had some meths in so have gone out and slowly poured that in as many holes as I could; didn't have any syringes on hand to squirt it into the holes.
May have left it too long before treating. I thought there was a 4" or so size patch of wood dust in the boot... turns out that patch was much...
I noticed this morning a fairly significant size of wood dust, maybe 4" diameter under one portion of it, so I can only imagine that there still active, don't think that much dust would have just fallen off it, and its been vacuumed out since it was last put back in the boot. The crate is for...
Noticed today a wooden crate I brought back from France is still being eaten by woodworm; I naively thought leaving it in the car for six months would be enough.
I'd like to protect it from further damage so its fit to use again. Any suggestions?
For flat joints and outside corners I think a flap disc can work well if you want a certain aesthetic, if its for your own projects you don't have to grind them back at all if you like the look of them.
I think it depends on the process and your experience. I go over the last bit of weld when...
I thought the poop shoot would be going straight down through the floor; thought that was why you built it there so the wheelbarrow can wheel underneath. It's looking good.
If the welder is anything like one of mine, the barbed fitting on the back will have a push fitting on the inside, so you can remove the barb fitting and just use the hose or you can get an adapter on Ebay for around £1.50, whatever works.
I have the 151TE and really like it. Don't think I could justify buying one at a new price though. Have a look on Ebay and or Facebook marketplace and you may pick up a well looked after model for half the price of a new one, that's what I did and I've been really happy with it.
First one is correct for what it is, but whether it'll be suitable for your machine, will depend on your machine. If yours is a hobby style MIG machine, it'll probably have a 4mm hose coming out of the machine or left loose internally somewhere, you just push that into the connection with the...
My Chinese made welder came with a European Schuko plug and it makes a really strong reliable connection easily, even came with a dust cover for when not in use. Didn't realise when I bought it, that the plug would be higher quality than the welder itself lol.
