Got a VW T25 I am welding up, lots to do and now have run out of dry weather for the foreseeable.
so, need a cheap quick solution to provide shelter that's gonna cope with weld sparks, grinding spray etc.
any suggestions?

Thanks peeps. I have checked and yes there is a bridge between tip and shroud. It seems quite hard, will give it a good go at later.
Funnily enough, a friend gave me a tin of anti splatter paint, which apparently you dip the end of the gun in. Ever seen or used it?
The great thing about the watch is that you can easily feel the watch alert you, especially if your listening to music. Lift up your wrist and see if it's something you need to deal with or not. So a simple flap up leather lid would be dead handy.
You're probably right. But I also actually like...
..for a mig gun to be live as in, it can't touch anything or it will short? Does that make sense? I mean, I want to rest the gun against something to help guide/keep steady my aim but can't as it shorts to the piece I am welding. if this is normal, can one buy a cover of some sort to stop the...
Ever heard of it, but google has - https://www.luminae.co.uk/store/Luminae-Apple-Watch-Cover-in-Multicam-Black-p166834551
not sure how long the nylon webbing would stand up to grinding spray, leather would be better. Also, it has to be put on with the watch, can't just wrap it round watch when...
I think that will change....they are so handy!
there are some right cool leather apple wrist straps out there, especially on Etsy. But non with a flip or Velcro watch-face cover. Someone's missing a trick!
That's the kind of thing I am thinking of, but that can maybe Velcro over and round the watch before working. An openable cover would work well, I don't know any leather workers personally, but I know one in the states that may be interested, will pm him.

I have an Apple Watch, quite expensive obvs but I am finding it more and more essential as time goes on. I'd like to be able to wear it while working on stuff ie welding/grinding/general knocking about in a garage.
I dont need to be able to see it, just feel it vibrate when I get a notification...
Looking for gloves for grinding and general metalwork handling and protection. Welding gauntlets are too bulky, but I need something to protect my hands from cuts (and arms to some extent) and grinder debris. But also, with decent feel and idealy touch screen compatibility....
Any suggestions...
Any recommendations for a quality goggle? Preferably with resistance to metal becoming embedded and with either reactive lens or that can go over glasses that are.

I bought the adaptive three phase model. I have been waiting a week to get a contract for gas, will be able to play with it on the 10th when apparently I can sign the contract...(I live in france...things are different here!)
I will definitely be using the heat spot function and I’ll be mostly...
Very useful thanks. Will check out LBC and Linde. I’ve seen arcal at Gamme Verte in Chalais, but the range of gas mixes is mind-boggling. I’m looking for a low co2 mix for carrosserie work.
