Hi all, not sure if this is the right place to post, but I'm in the midst of a clear out and I'm looking to get rid of my Clarke 160T (Turbo) mig welder.
To go with it, I've also got a Parweld Auto darkening mask, snips, disposable gas (1x used + 1x unused), and a pair of magnetic angles. Its...
Thanks for the suggestions guys. Its an MR2 so still suffers with "Small Hands Required" syndrome
Will have a go at bending one if I can get my blow torch out and not burn the garage down.
I have a leaking exhaust manifold on my car and there is 1 bolt which is difficult to get to. Am I able to modify a Chrome Vandium spanner to enable me to approach the nut from another angle?
Will there be difficulty in welding something like this?
Thanks,
Ant :welder:
Hi all,
The garage and area that I'm likely to do work on my car is quite a way from the power supply in the house. I've got a Clarke 160TE which is ok to run on a 13amp supply, but wondered if I would be ok running it on a 50m extension reel?
I wont be doing heavy welds. Maybe a bit of...
Absolutely. Wouldn't "down grade" anything on there. Was more a check to see what people recommend for an Earth Lead, and an "is this ok for the power lead" type of post.
Cheers,
Ant
Cool thanks Wozzaaah.
I would also like to lengthen the earth clamp lead eventually. But will probs leave that for now and see how I get on with just the power supply lead.
Cheers,
Ant
How comes it runs off 13amp house plug then? The wire thats supplied with it doesn't appear any different to that of my girlfriends hair straighteners to be honest.
Ant
Hi all,
I've got a Clarke 160TE and its always bugged me how short the Earth Clamp and Power Supply cables are.
I've eye'd up some General Purpose Rubber Flexible Cable rated to 16Amps from the local TLC which I plan on using to re-wire the power supply up to a good couple of meters...
Hi all,
I've got a couple of mates who have asked my to do a few patch jobs for them.
One is the rear door of a van, something around the hinge splitting. I'm guessing its coming away from the body.
- so for this I gather I would need to grind the paint back, get a good earth somewhere...
My understanding was the other way to that. Equal length runners give you smoother operation as each pulse is equally spaced. Un-equal length gives you the sound of a scooby because pulses are colliding and giving a: bang bang BANG ba-bang bang BANG type effect.
all great ideas... and I have plenty of red in the shed so yeah, it will probaly end up the same colour as my car
Michael, liking that idea. Definately swaying me more towards doing it sooner rather than later.
