At risk group...Diabetes for me. Also my wife beat Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma and as a result of the cancer & chemo...she has a **** immune system. So, we’re riding it out.
See, I know where you’re going with this. I’m pretty sure it is, but I’ll try a spark check later. I just don’t want to damage it any more. I am open to suggestions on verifying the material.
I followed the crack down. It larger than I thought. I am going to stop drill the crack. I am going bevel the crack edges and use the suggested stick weld with a Nickel rod. I think I’ll stitch weld it to keep the heat down...thoughts? Now, I’ve got to source some nickel rods. Once I get...
I just came across this. I got some from my brother. I haven't tried them yet. This could be a good COVID19 “social distancing” experiment. I’ve got about 5 sticks of this stuff.
Let’s talk cast iron. I’ve got a project I have to complete for my Father-in-Law. He has asked be to repair a big crack in an old cast iron yard (garden) roller. I’ve never worked such a large piece of cast iron before. The pre-heat and controlled cool down is going to be a challenge. I...

Well, well...what an interesting thread. I think this is amusing and frustrating. You know... I bought a little StaticArc not that long ago (maybe 18-mo-ago) for my 13-year-old to learn on. It's a decent little machine (Mig/Mag 140-I think). Anyway, it worked for a while then the motor went...
That was just about the same math I was using. I completely agree with everything you just said. That’s why I would have bought the same machine, using the same figures.
I completely agree. R-Tech machines have been doing great work for me. I hope yours treats you well. One question, what about that 18amp circuit thing? Thoughts?
I really rate R-Tech. I have the R-Tech P30C Plasma Cutter, The R-Tech MiG 180A, and the R-Tech TiG-161 AC/DC machines. I also use a Parweld XTM 160i. I really wanted the R-Tech Pro-Arc 175 for field work, but I'll be damned if I couldn't find one (at the time). It is like they were all sold...
