if you look into the price of a truss roof lifting system you will soon steer clear , I owned 12 of them and they were the price of a house they also only really lift close to the tower , basically inside half the base at a max , thats why you use them in pairs or in sets of four . round these...
Now that is a thing of great beauty . How many lifetimes will that last , in a hundred years it will still look the same , they may use it for making tele porter case covers or speeder engine pods or hoverboard dash shrouds , but it will still be here and still work ,, thats a thought, todays...

an older transformer machine would be an option ,,, but once you start welding you wont stop , it is a hobby in its self , not just for car repair ,,, it opens up a lot of options. Never say never .
a lot of it has to do with what you can get serviced / warranty repairs on locally ,,, you dont buy a welder , you buy a warranty and they lend you a welder to go with it.
And of course ,, Welcome to the forum .
I would decide what I deem as fair , say 30 or 35 an hour , and tell that to the customer , start and count the hours , at the end of the day either get the customer to call in , or take a few pics , depending if its a customer I know or a new one . explain the progress and the next step and...
