Nice! I use this link! For instance, I now need a new Tungsten Adapter w/Screens after I tried 100amps reverse polarity which spayed molten tungsten into the cup. Only £5
Disclaimer: I don't know what I'm doing.
I had a 'big' birthday and was given a CK 17 tig torch with superflex cable. Loverly. Except that I think the insulator size is slightly different. My cheapo pyrex cup kit doesn't fit on the CK - its like the insulator/heat shield needs to be just a bit...
I wasn't bad off for vices before I got these latest two. The Handy has damage on both jaw ledges - so no pounding. Soft jaws.
A small leg vice
Pattern makers vice - Chinese
another quick release record 4", good condition but cast iron
Even small good vices are good to have around...
I got my footpedal from weldes. Speedy delivery.
I tried aluminium for the first time - the arc was all over the place whatever settings I tried.. then I realised I'd run out of gas.
So I used up 8L of argon making stainless cubes! Now I'm using up the next bottle on aluminium but it seems a lot...
I got this book https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gas-Burners-For-Forges-Furnaces-Kilns/164321784735?hash=item264257739f:g:iBEAAOSw8gVfIEPm
(that exact book - hopefully not for much longer :) )
But you don't need it (it is available on the internet as PDF). As said^^, forced air is simplest, Amal carbs...
I did manage to find an old Co2 regulator for a quick try. The thing works, in 4T, which is some relief. I'm new to TIG.... it's so quiet and gentle! I forgot everything I have read so will have to go do that again.
I forgot to adjust the sensitivity of my mask and didn't realise it wasn't...
Warning - LOTS of the Argon regulators on Ebay, Amazon, Wish etc will not fit UK Argon. Luckily I got mine from Amazon and they have good returns policy so only wasted £3 return pickup fee (I hope).
Reminded me why I should be careful buying cheap.... oops.
There are other warnings all over the...
The sherman 206P AC that this thread was all about is AC. It was available around £400 but they went out of stock. I just spent over £500.
There is a 206 DC version which is still avail under £400 but no one knows about it. At the moment it seems reasonable to suspect that not all Sherman's are...
A nice thought by the Spanish retailer - Distrival - (like the face mask) but these destructions have probably been auto-translated from Polish to English. The result is useful if you know there is 2T or 4T available somewhere and you just want to confirm where... but not great if you don't...
Just got a nice covid facemask delivered from Spain so I'm all ready for 24th. Came with instructions in Polish... AND English! Instructions seem to be for a Welder though. Hurrah! Plugged welder in via euro plug converter and it switches on. Let's hope it doesn't end in disappointment. Now need...
Thanks. I might give that one more go, then if not success I think I'll have wasted enough time to save for the paraweld. My weld table is looking really good!
FYI, Spanish sites ask for an identification for tax purposes. I gave my passport which isn't correct but... lets see...
Totally agree! Although it's strange how important triangular waveforms can be to someone who has never tig welded, never needed to weld aluminium, but goes on a lot of conference calls ...
I got refund on my order#18 so more people can move up the list. I might have another go later. That means I can kill time again while on conference calls, looking for other bargains. I failed, but
Just in case triangular waveforms are the most important criteria for anyone, then the R-Tech at...
