Well the first one wasn't pretty did burn a couple of holes and the grinder was in use for a lot longer than the welder but the second one was a lot better. Quite pleased with the result. Many thanks for the advice
Sorry to bother everyone. I only ever work on classic cars therefore thin sheet steel. I'm doing a job at home which involves welding a 30mm diameter bush with 6mm wall thickness to 2mm plate. Could someone please advise how I should go about it without blowing holes in the 2mm. I use a Portamig 165
I waited an extra couple of weeks over the original quoted date for my Portamig 165 (delivered 10 days ago) but that did include a holiday period. Really worth waiting for - excellent piece of kit.
