I stripped all the old rubberised stuff from the rear wheelarches then applied Jotun and Raptor. Car now sounds like a tin can. Had to install sound deadener mat and closed cell foam on the inside of the arches. Still a bit tinny but better.
Just bought a new wing from Merc to replace an old rusty one. There's a black factory coating and I'm wondering how to prepair it for epoxy primer. Do I just clean it or does it require a rub doon with sandpaper?
I blended it halfway up the panel. I think what I'm seeing is the transition between the epoxy primer and the original undercoat (darker). It's almost not visible but its gonna annoy me. I have the other side ready to go but I'm thinking about adding another coat of primer above it and try to...
Trying to fix a rusty wheel arch. Removed all rust, Filled pits and epoxy primed. Sanded primer up to 1000 grit and sanded whole panel also to 1000. There seemed to be a perfectly smooth transition between the epoxy primer and existing paint however after base and clear I can still make out the...
Fixing a rusty wheel arch stripped, filled and epoxy primed. Whilst doing a final wet sand burned through to the metal. Tiny hair width area about half an inch long. Dont want to activate another 2k aerosol for that will a finger wipe of regular upol grey primer fix it or will that lead to long...
Can you get basecoat blender thinners in an aerosol? I have a rear wing wheelarch to do in silver. I have a 2k aerosol clear and will do the complete wing in it but worry about the the basecoat blending as I only want to do the repair area with it. I see a Spraymax 1k blender would that do it?
Any idea of coverage using a roller and brush? Per litre. Planning to do rear of car above subframe inc wheel arches. Pre tinted 2 or 3 coats. I thought 3 litres
Hydrate 80. Same kind of stuff. "rust convertor" The Navy Steel is supposed to be the best one but who knows. Better to get the rust off rather than convert it I think
I bought some a couple of years ago. Seems ok but have nothing else to compare it to. Only thing is it's only available in 5ltr containers at £18.90 per litre plus £9 postage. They recommended a company in Hull "Teal and Mackrill" who sell it under the name of "CooVar Rust Converter" they do...
