Is there any wear in your hinge pins? I normally aim for a 88 cm gap between the tub and bulkhead. I’d say a few hinge shims would get you very close part no:BDC710040 for “td5” style hinges you have fitted, earlier square hinges are a different shape if buying shims just. A knee in the middle...
Try having a chat with someone like HR vitals who work with the motor industry.
The best bit of advice here and I agree is I would seriously avoid a partnership like the plague too- it never ever ends well!
That’s another problem- spraying in our climate in an unheated, non-climate controlled booth is a completely different kettle of fish than in a pro environment. Bodyshop repairs on a panel on good paint is not the same as a 20 year old motor with 20 years of bad repairs.
What you get told in...
Thanks, I find it quite hard to follow what he’s doing/trying to do :ashamed:
I really think it’s the amount of thinners you are using over the top of different finishes- combined with a poor quality paint and not enough prep. Sorry if that comes across harsh not meant to be, had a look...
Sounds like a car with a nightmare combo of repairs over the years. I would seal the thing and start again, it’ll probably react not far down the line and break your heart.
The less thinner you have to put into the paint the better for reactions, the large amount of thinner in your paint will...
Good sealer or primer first. Deeper you go and the deeper the scratches the more chance you have of it coming back through. If it’s really bad you could try Barcoat, but I alway use it as a very last resort.
did you try just a bit of thinners over where it reacts to see if you have some dirty...
I use Allister Moore Welding over here in Ireland they’re excellent to deal with and as has been said much easier to repair(they repair in-house) than sending it to the mainland.
The DeVilbiss GTI prolite is a class above the cheap guns, if you look after it and clean it well, it’ll last you 15 years easy. Depends on how much painting you do and what of, there’s different caps and nozzles for different finishes. A dual nozzle deal they did with 1.3 and 1.4 kit would...
1.4 is a very small nozzle to put it through! If not using a “underbody” gun I’d go 2.2 or 1.8 at a push. If you don’t have a decent or primed surface it won’t stay on for too long or be a good job.
Something that gets rave reviews in the Landy world and is actually not very good....well I never :D
You can get away with tinting the Raptor with a bit of 2K paint the same colour.
