A few days ago I opened one of the Velux windows in the ManCave and, predictably, I forgot to close it and, predictably, it rained overnight. I've been meaning to get one for a few years so bit the bullet - made far easier by 20% off at EBAC!
It arrived the next day and the following morning...
Americans call it 'stacking dimes' with the MIG; its just manipulating the weld pool - figures of 8, little 'e' loops.
Just google 'stacking dimes MIG welding' and you'll get lots of quides.
I bought some Vessel (Japanese) sets last year and I'm very impressed with them:

Yeah, I know; I should have a expanded to explain that Fusion (I have no experience of it) would really seem to be a bargain yet capable version of Inventor.
Once you've modelled a part in 3D, creating 2D drawings is easy-peasy; I teach thirteen year old kids how to do it - but we are fortunate enough to have Inventor. It also has bend allowances and can export DXF.
@Theblackbox If, ultimately, you are looking at CNC then 3D might be the way to go...
I really hope not! A colleague is Irish and did mention that there is an Irish version she remembered from childhood.
I know what tripe smells like... we used to feed the dogs on it when Mrs TF tried a 'raw food' diet for them.
Oh, and I also had to buy a new microwave after I defrosted some...
I used this BBC recipe, you can use cream as an alternative to milk as @Rannsachair likes to:

It's more of a meal than a soup!
I made cullen skink yesterday and we had that last night with crusty bread. When I bought the smoked haddock from the smokehouse just along the coast I bought some kippers too; I'm currently enjoying them with toasted soda bread and scrambled egg.
@RaceDiagnostics That's great to see what you're doing and, somewhat selfishly, I'm reassured to see that academic institutions have such such openings.
I'm counting down the years to, if not full retirement, not having to work full-time, and St Andrews Uni is only a few miles away!
Mrs TF's brother has been firmly settled in Perth since the 90's and keeps inviting is over for Christmas... I don't think I could cope with the heat and having to stay indoors so much; much prefer our summer, their 'winter' as its the perfect shorts and t-shirt weather for me - we're hoping to...
