I would take the plunge for 3D cad using fusion 360. It is free and there is a lot of good tutorials on YouTube. It maybe a slightly steeper learning curve but it just has so very many advantages you won’t regret the investment and time. It’s also just fun and intuitive to work in 3D. I can say...
A couple of year ago I looked at buying a TIG set from them. For some reason it didn’t work out as I think I got a used one from a friend. But I do remember thinking how helpful they were. I just bought a plasma cutter from them as I remembered how good they were. As it happen I haven’t had...
I was looking at this question recently. There are various online charts the show bolt yield strength. I was looking at M20 and course and fine. It works out about the same.
I think you would need a bit more than that. I think is may have been gas monkey they had a bucket full to strip a car bonnet. They made it look very easy.
Well got the Plasma cutter up and running and it looks like I got lucky with an easy fix. I am however not convinced the pilot arc is working as it should. Its been eight years since I last used the machine and then only for about an hour. There is a delay between pulling the trigger and the...
I noticed our Americans cousins use dry ice to remove under seal. Once it’s cold enough it just chips away very easily. Problem have no idea how to get dry ice in the UK
First time it would drive fine on the flat but died on the first hill. Annoying as every direction from my house is up hill. I think it was a fuel problem combination of clogged fuel lines filter and poor electric fuel pump. Replaced all the above and installed new mechanical fuel pump Feeling...
Snap I have one of those. LOL I posted last year to say my saw kept lifting up on its own, thought is was a fault and disconnected the cam drive to the pump. I now know better thanks guys. I must find the post about the correct oil for the lifter. I think I filled it with Jack oil.
To be honest I don’t think I will use a 9 inch grinder again. I’m tall and skinny and it’s hard to control and I don’t have the training or experience to use it safely. It can stay on its naughty shelf from now on. I think it’s a metabo or something but I thought I was the bees knees Buying the...
Yes i think I was using the grinder between my legs. I think I was standing on the tube to help hold it while I cut it.
Lesson learned.......... I feel sorry for the people that don’t live to regret there mistakes, just a moments carelessness.
I’m also going with the 9 inch grinder. nearly cut my bloody leg off when I trapped a cutting disk in tube I was cutting and it exploded kicking the grinder out sideways into my leg. Cut through heavy boiler suit and jeans cleanly but didn’t put a mark on my skin. I couldn’t believe how quickly...
Just an update that I found that the 5 volt rail to the logic board is down. The 5 volt rail is derived from a 15 volt regulator which appears open circuit input to output. I have ordered a replacement regulator from RS and will install it if I can figure out how to get the PCB out. Not easily...
Ok thanks I’m not sure if they would support the Clark machine as they don’t list on their website. But I will give them a call. It’s always nice to get a recommendation when you get good service. In a fit of peak I went ahead and bought a R-Tech unit should arrive today. It’s Hf rather than...
Yes I think I have enough air. I don’t even get the green power led and none of the other led lamps illuminate at anytime either. I have the cover off the machine and I do intend to temporarily link out the pressure switch to see if I get the power lamp indicator. If I remember correct I had...
