Get yourself on the Dixon Fabrication Facebook group. So many posts telling folk theres a lead time on most of the items on his website.
He's good at what he does and his product is worth the wait but also it shows there is demand for decent well made bumpers. Advertising is key to it all...
Theres a market for those bumpers. Dixon Fabrication are always booked up with sometimes 4-6 weeks worth of lead time on orders. Banging them out at £200+ each
I'd never rely on just the axle stands. My anxiety wouldn't let me. Rule of three for me, especially working my truck. Axle stands, Trolley jack and the removed wheels underneath. Not perfect, but I work on my drive mainly and it's the best I have available to me.
I remember doing this on my EVO IV. Break the quarter light they said....
Turns out the smallest pieces of glass costs more than the main door window and is import only. £100 quid later...
I love it when folk post these sort of videos. "Oh Dear" and then show the innards clearly lacking any sort of preventative maintenance. What do you expect? It's full of workshop dust and crap. All over the bits that can get warm. I bet they sat there and pushed that machine hard to the point it...
Quick update on this. Replaced the Battery today :
120ah 930cca
Wow. Like night and day for starting. What used to be a long labourous turning over, now starts on the button.
Comparison between the old and new. Old battery was 20ah 500cca
Also checked the charging voltage whilst i was...
It's not that simple as winding out the actuator. A remap will transform as standard TD5. They tend to be a little underwhelming on a standard map.
I had mine done at Storm Tuning. A lad named Daniel Matthews runs the show and he properly knows his way around Td5's. There are others though...
I've just paid less than a 10'er off ebay for one. After i saw that and bought it, I saw that they do blade fuse attachments for multimeters. Oh well. Another tool for the collection.:laughing:
It's a D2 td5. Multiple fuse boxes on these but IIRC they are all standard size blade...
Good shout. I think I might. I've been looking at the batteries recommended for D2 TD5's and the one i have, Mine is a lot smaller. But the drain to flat still needs to be looked at I reckon.
I don't have such luxury as a cd changed in the boot :) However i did add the lightbar on the roof, so I removed the fuse for that to take it out of the equation.
I plan on locking the car with the bonnet open and with the switch down then leaving it for half hour so that everything has chance...
Actually that might be a better way of doing it. It would be more accurate that just looking at the draw happening at the terminal as that would include and alarm and immobiliser current as well as the circuit that's problematic. Thanks :)
Thanks, I rarely use my multimeter for anything other...
I'm having a bit of an issue with my Disco when i leave it parked up for a few days, I'll come to it and it'll have a flat battery. I understand that the best method to find out what is causing it to go flat is to put a multimeter between one of the battery connectors and the battery to then...
@jerrytug I work for an auto motive glass distributor. I could ask the question about that piece of glass if you would like me to?
Feel free to PM me with details of your motor, Make model, Reg and Chassis number probably a good starter for 10.
They will come back until the issues are sorted. I remember my local indy telling me that it register the fault so many times with the ECU and then illuminate the lights.
Front right Sensor is easy enough to do. Replace the hub as they come with the sensor. Buy the best hub you can, £40 hubs...
Ian Dixon has of Dixon Fabrication. He sells looms that strip the engine back to whats required to get it running. Ideal for conversions etc. None of the slabs, BCU, immobiliser. IKA codes and the like. Just simple turnkey operation.
