Easier to just make a new one. Mine was 4mm plate so replaced it with 6mm plate bent in vice after scoring with 1mm slitting disc. Welded the slits and good to go for another few years. The one below was the original and lasted 8 years, definitely had my money’s worth out of it.

Nothing wrong with waterbase so long as you have the facilities to use them propery. Alot of people on here are diy painters although not all, so waterbase isn't really an option for them hence your replies.

Personally I would da all the car with 320, full prime as ive found similar colours to be very transparent so easy to mess the job up if you just spot prime. Base then clear. This all depends if you have somewhere to do it and...
