I didn't find the appropriate dxf file but managed to get these custom cut off a ebay seller , 8mm thick 304ss for about a fiver each, so not worth messing around really.
Yes and you get blind to it after a bit and can't see if you have got it or not, luckily my long suffering Mrs was supervisor/paint mixer and pointing out if I had missed anything.
They really are the world's worst thing to paint, I was running out of swear words :laughing:
The only trouble now is everything I put on the car now has to be fresh looking or it will look @#%
I'm spraying it with 2k.
Yes the engine is held in like you say and another plate on the front bolted through the chassis, then threaded rods pull the two plates together.
There is a better way but I've ran out of time to start making new mounts now.
The old school way was indeed as you say...
