The rear ends are cast from Spheroidal cast iron , a very different metal that combines some of the easy casting properties of grey cast iron and the toughness and flexibility of steel .
It welds...
Only got the tractor recently that is indeed a bit of box badly tacked on.Chris if you have done this job before is this cast iron or cast steel, if cast iron is there any danger of the heat spreading and cracking the cast somewhere else?If I get a plasma cut one I presume you mean steel, could...

Got two old welders 230/380 and 230/415.Opened the 380 one there are two transformers in there and a nest of wires.Any advice on how to go about finding the 3 wires?
Got a transformer and have got the rotary converter up and running.Under load the voltages are 419,396 and 389 would this be considered too far out of balance for a rotary converter?
The building of the rotary converter to produce 230v three phase I now think I understand and can build but bringing it up to 415 with a step up transformer I don't.Could anyone help me with this or point me to a post which explains it clearly,I am not great with circuit diagrams.Has anyone used...
