Thank you, it's a great system, easy to use and cut, corners and reveals are well thought out...
We won't be bothering with render or anything equivalent
There is a 50mm deep slot cut in the wall level withe outside of the timber frame. The membrane is slotted in, the groove filled with sealant and then a. 150mm dpc membrane is skid in and stapled to the timber as seen in the picture.
Spray foam from the inside to ensure it's airtight..
The...
Thank you, it's pretty much finished, floor tiled, skirts in... Just got the kitchen splashbacks to tile and a bit of painting... But that's nothing to do with me
Almost finished... Electrician, plasterer and tiler all caused delays...
Taking the windows out of the equation it took 3 weeks to watertight, 5 to externally finished... Another couple to the point of plastering.
That's pretty much me on my own
Would I do it again yes..
Incidentally even...
After a lot of head scratching I ended up removing the header timber(after checking with the supplying company that I was ok to do so) and replaced with a shallower piece...
Insulated plasterboard and roof lights were then fitted
So, continuing the story... Breathable membrane and battens ready for the cladding...
Why cladding... 2 reasons..
1) it's a quick easy way of getting a finished structure that is building control compliant... But can be removed easily if we want to render
2) we were heading into bad weather
I've had b & d, 2 evolutions, they all did well but I've now got a Makita cordless.....
Smaller nose, narrow belt, fits in places the other 2 didn't. Very powerful, extremely smooth...it's not cheap but well worth the extra money
Repipe the lot, your wasting time and money trying to cobble it together. Like kayos I've had to sort out this sort of homebrew catastrophe..... Single pipe will not do what you want..
I've had a gravity fed Fuji set up for about 5 years, don't use it much but it sprays as well as my compressor set up did. Loads less noise and minimal overspray when it's set up right
Why? The structure is finished and progressing rapidly. He only wants to confirm a few details all of which will be done this weekend and covered up. Apparently bc don't work weekends or Bank Holidays. After that it's all finish work
The foil is a hi tech(supposedly) quilted product that will fill the wall/roof structure, pre insulated plasterboard is then fitted, 50mm on the walls and 100mm on the ceiling
Thursday, boring bit, everything has to drilled and coach bolted together also roof had to be screwed to the wall.
Building control appeared! After the shock of how far I'd got he couldn't find anything wrong with the build. Next visit is when it's finished, however I have to document all the...
So......back to the build(concrete is a pain and boring )
Truck turned up, late, so Monday was a nothing done day..
Garage and house full of bits also neighbours garden.
Exactly, hence why I mixed it myself. I could have had it delivered but no one was available to help so standing charges would have been ridiculous whilst I moved it all on my own
