Jenkins Steel, Cramlington, Northumberland.
Only dealt with them once, but found them to be reasonably priced, friendly and helpful.
They even chucked in a few extra bar ends on top of my order.

Seconded.
Tighten high, loosen low, working opposite jaws. (Thanks to Abom79) I've only had my lathe 3 weeks and I haven't used a three jaw yet.
The three jaw that came with my lathe had broken teeth, so I used four out of necessity. I found a direct replacement for the three on fleabay, for...
Well, this is odd. I just chucked 'another' piece of EN19 in the lathe and parted it without issue. Ran it dry too. Got some chatter initially, but pushed harder and got a reasonable finish.
I can only assume that the piece I was working on before wasn't EN19, as it was marked. Or it had been...
I pushed it hard a couple of times and ended up with flying HSS in my face. Just as well I always have safety glasses on.
No top rake. The top of the tool is flat. I haven't tried that. I'm going to give it a go.
I'm leaning toward crap tool. I wonder if there is a Germany in China, because...
Nicely done.
Was the stock cut to length, or have you parted it off?
I'm not having any problems with normal turning. It's only parting that is causing the bother.
I now have a small hacksaw cut in the piece, so I'm going to have to start again, since I understand parting tools don't like...
I'm having a bit of an issue while parting EN19/4140 Chromoly with HSS. Am I peeing in the wind?
I think I'm set up. The tool is on centre height, dialled in perpendicular. I'm hand feeding and tried running at every speed the old SB 9A has to offer. The tool gets blunt rather quickly, slow or...
Cheers, Steve. I have that problem where I live now. I don't mind travelling to pick up a gem. It's very rare that I find something I'm after locally. I'm just not looking forward to moving all of my tools, when I eventually make the move.
I'm new to metal turning myself. As others have stated, watch a few youtube videos by the likes of Doubleboost, Abom79, Keith Fenner, MrPete222, Joe Pieczynski. etc.
I hit the ground running with all the useful info from these channels.
Abom79 is a master at dialling in a 4 jaw.
Hi all. I'm Chris from Co. Durham.
The MW forum was recommended to me by the bloke I bought my lathe from.
Being relatively new to the world of fabrication, I'm hoping to learn a few new skills, meet some like-minded people and benefit from the wealth of experience you chaps (and chapettes) are...
