It was me that rebuilt the machine originaly after I got this from an old engineer works in the lakes.
I stripped and rebuilt the whole thing besides the gearbox/head. looks like the guy I sold it onto let it suffer. it was gleaming when I finished with it and it ran like a dream. its the same...
I have a problem with this PAK 25. When i turn it on and plug air into it, it it gives air thru to gun immediately and stays that way rgeardless of what i do. The air just dont stop.
Now if I try to get cutting i can get a momentary arc and a quick plasma spurt for a millisecond but it wont...
i HAVE ONYL EVER HAD ONE BIG SHOCK... It was exactly that and more. Funny enough i wasnt repairing anything at the time neither. I was grinding on a nutool bench grinder with a round twist knott wire wheel attached and whilst grinding clean some steel part i honestly think the machine grounded...
HONESTLY CANT THANKYOU ENOUGH FOR YOU HELP! FIRST TIME IVE EVER RESOLVED A FAULT FROM START TO FINISH THRU A FORUM.
Mostly folk loose interest or a thread becomes a cluster fook and goes all to hell...
Ive finaly made a small clip from some 2mm copper wire and moulded it to the torch shroud...
THANKS! Appreciate the concern, great to get some solid advice rather than those that want to just tell you to quit as its too dangerous... But fail to offer a right way to do soce on offer safe advice. thankyou mate
could you do me one huge last faviour pls. could you open up the torch head and lay out the parts so i can see what you insulator ring and also where it meets the torch look like? My insulator ring crumbled appart the moment i opened up the torch so i need to replace it. But i cant find any OEM...
YOU ABSOLUTE BEAUTY!!!!! THATS WHY MY CIRCUIT IS CLOSING UP AND SHOWING CONTINUITY... MINES MISSING TOO. I WONDERED WHAT THOSE TWO LITTLE BRAS PINS WERE IN THE SIDE OF THE TORCH
tHAT TORCH IS THE BINZEL PSB 31 KZS ( CONTACT ARCING ) THEY DO THREE OTHER ALTERNATIVES WITH DIFFERING LAST THREE...
Well how else we going to learn unless we just dive right in... The thing is i will learn a lot from this experience regardless of outcome, which i can carry on to my next repair...
Just a quick one for some swift advice.
I was of the belief that testing voltages on a pcb when checking DC voltages you test to ground? that being the ground of the case where all the other green/yelow wires are bolted to.
Problem is im not showing any voltages on a particular plasma cutter pcb...
is this somewhere within the torch head. accessible when you unscrew the torch shroud. i will take some pics and pls log back in to point these out for me. as im certain this whole problem is to do with this simple wire not completing circuit and funny enough the wire without continuity is the...
HELP AGAIN!!
So today ive checked some other stuff.. I figured that the problem was likely the switching to enable the arc. so i concentrated on the circuit 7/8 that you also mentioned which is the two wires that completes the circuit through the gun/trigger and back to the pcb. ive limited...
GREAT thanks for helping me understand.. I honestly think its as simple as a broken connection between a small section of white wire thats causing all this grief, as i can run the machine manually by pressing down the main contactor block by pressing its manual test button ontop that all...
which relay?
I do get an arc when i manually hold closed the main contactor, cuts perfectly..
ly other realys are on the pcb itself. Im realy strugling to understand the circuit. do the two wires that go from pcb to torch switch and then from the torch tip back to the machine, i guess these two...
any idea what the parts are that ive marked in yellow circles? can anyone help me understand this diagram better? wheres the torch triger mainly indicated on diagram
yes mine has that and when its depressed it kicks the air in. apparently the sequence is, Push torch into work, press trigger then lift torch whilst trigger held and the arc will begin. mine doesnt. i get air just no arc.
as ive just mentioned though if i manualy press down the main contactor...
Delving a little further i did manage to get the machine to Arc by manual shown in pic activating the big contactor switch. So im guessing my problem is between the microswitch and the white wire which doesnt have continuity between the end of the torch and the machine itself.. I did try...
doing everything other than arcing.. new tips, done nothing. so i opened torch and noticed their isnt and continuity between switch wires, brown and white. the brown seems fine from machine to torch. the switch is fine.
What is confusing me is? Is there supposed to be something within the tip...
