Additional to the previous post i would like to share an image of the large manufacturing factory and R&D facility we have in France.

I am always interested in questions about GYS and the comments from those that know us a little, thank you for this input. GYS has grown a lot in recent years it can be difficult for perceptions to match the latest situation. Often people are surprised to learn the extent of GYS operations. I...
Good morning,
Any points listed to consider or advise given where provided in an intentionally helpful manner. You are correct in stating that a Pure tungsten will ball, but the point of the conversation was to help with arc ignition across an open joint and not problems with balling tungtens...
Hi,
For purposes of tacking i would switch the downslope off to Zero. This will give you better control of the puddle as you can switch the arc off immediately when you see a joint is made. A downslope setting will continue to maintain the arc and introduce further heat resulting in blow...
Good afternoon,
I maybe able to offer you some points to consider and help with your issue.
*Lanthane 2% is a multi-strike tungsten and not specific for Aluminium. A Zirconiated or Pure Tungsten electrode would give you better results.
*Sharpen the Tungsten to a point, as this will help...
Hello and good Morning,
I would like to offer some assistance regarding your need for gas connection. GYS have these parts available to purchase from the catalogue listing. Please find below a catalogue extract that provides the images and correct part numbers you require. I have also attached...
Good Morning Vambo,
My name is Neil Burton and I'm the Divisional manager responsible for GYS welding and cutting products in the UK. We are sorry to hear you have a issue with your Easymig 140 and we would like to offer you some help.
Please at your convenience, contact myself at either-...
Good Morning,
Could i ask what make and model your current welding equipment is please? I maybe able to offer some help in setting the parameters. I assume as it has pulse/double pulse, it will operate in a synergic mode? as you are looking to weld a thin gauge material over a meter long, i...
Good afternoon,
This post has been brought to my attention today. I had received a call from Westermans around the time of this post to which i relayed all the information required to electrically connect the CNC controller and plasma together. In short, i just wanted to check with yourself you...
Hi Ian,
you don't require a foot pedal on any machine. a foot pedal is an option to have more control over the welding amperage so that the weld can be continued rather than stop to let the material cool or change the settings before continuing. The Multi pearl doesn't have an option for a foot...
Hi Ian,
GYS offer two options for Tig torch connections on the MultiPearl 200-4 multi process machine.
You have the option of a standard Dinse type connector with a Valved gas outlet. the 2nd option is the purpose built Binzel torch with a Euro plug connector which simply screws onto Euro...
Hi Jim2007,
I'm not sure on your budget but there are a few options of Plasma Cutters from GYS.
The Easycut 40 is a 230v machine with a 20mm cut capacity that requires only 2.5 Bar to run. The amount your compressor would continually load would depend on the distance you are cutting.
GYS...
hi dobbslc,
Nice to hear you're pleased with the EasyMig 140.
I have some experience with Canal barge structures and I would agree, based on the material thickness used, the Easymig 160 would be a little low in amperage and a 200 + amp machine would be better suited.
best regards,
neil
Hi Ian,
there are a few tables online that indicate the welding voltage and wirefeed speed marriage. I'm not aware of any tables available in the GYS documentation.
As a recommendation, you can set the welding voltage - then adjust the wirefeed speed upwards from a low speed setting to find...
Hi Sammo303,
Sorry I am a bit late to spot this...
Thanks for identifying GYS as an option - yes the TIG 168 is made in the GYS Factory in France, as for you concern over parts availability I am pleased to inform you that GYS have a full sales and service company in the UK ( 30 staff) and...
Hi Rusty B,
Something to consider when buying any welding machine is:-
if there's any issue or possible fault with the equipment, can I get it easily and affordably repaired?
Does the manufacture of the equipment have a UK office where I can seek help and advice?
The answers to both above...
Hi Ian,
The Mig synergic setting does have a maximum thickness of 4.0mm. However, this is calculated in a "T" fillet position, so the actual thickness Max setting is 6.0mm. this is because when welding a "T" fillet, you add the plate thickness of one plate to half the thickness of the joining...
Hi Mark,
The Binzel torch that comes with the Tig 200 ac/dc package is indeed a double button trigger control which requires a 3 wire control. If you would like to replace this torch with a standard latch or depress trigger, you can use pins 1 and 3 on the Amphenol plug connector. please see...
What a good question from addjunkie, Let me add a little more explanation which I hope is interesting.
Capacitors installed across the transformer output on a traditional style Mig welder serve two purposes:-
Remove the unnecessary high Voltage and current spikes during the welding cycle...
