I got a manual online for a Sealey one , which i presume is the same far eastern made .
They say use hydraulic oil .
I returned item to seller , Might get a brand new one ,any cheapo brand recommendations?
Hi.
I bought a hydraulic ram type bearing puller from marketplace , Looks Chinese but I only wanted it for occasional use.
The thing i noticed is that the hydraulic ram doesn't come out when you wind the screw in.
Do these have to be filled with grease or smth? Or this one is knackered?
Thanks
They are no full by meaning clogged....there is a layer of debris on them... apparently someone clever didn't fot a drain grommet and few skirt clip spacers resulting in water getting in....the sills are solid only the very rear area needing a bit of welding
Hi.
I am planning to spray some wax into the car sills after i have done some welding , however inside the sills is full of muck.
How would you advise to clean inside the sills ? Jet wash or hose maybe?
I cut out the outer arch section and revealed the inner arch panel.
Now i am wondering how can i fabricate the repair patch as it is too complicated for me , it is curved slightly to meet the bottom sill and curved from side to side too.
Please advise me chaps
Thanks guys .
I thought i d have to cut away some of the good metal but welding that back in didn't cross my mind.
Thats why i ask the pros, will update the thread with some pics when i get back to work on the car on Monday
Evening guys.
I started tackling the very rear of the sills in my Mercedes W210, i found out that the inner arch closure panel is quite rusty so i cut that out .
I would like some guidance on how to fabricate the rear wheel arch bottom lip where it meets the sill...do i have to cut out the...
Not really
Deox is Citric acid hence it is weaker
Jenolite is phosphoric acid
Fertan Vactan and most converters are tannic acid based.
However the Evapo-rust isnt an acid its PH neutral... It uses whats called chelation to separate the iron from iron oxide...
How does Evapo-Rust® work...
I believe rust converters work well if rust is ground down till the initial corrosion pits.
I always prefer using rust removers till all the rust is gone, i am currently using phosphoric acid and it works ok just needs frequently wiping and applying as if it stays too long it drys to form hard...
Evening.
I have some derusting to do on my W210 Mercedes and I am after some good rust remover.
I have tried Deox gel and jenolite both are ok but the first is too weak and slow and the latter dries too quick and seems weak too
I tried to buy some Evapo-rust gel after reading that its one of...
I will use in best case half a litre, so the rest will be leftover.
Doesn't the activator go bad after few months once opened?
I had some epoxy primer in the garage which no longer went hard with activator after it had been in storage for couple of years
Thanks guys epoxy mastic it is.
I will get some bilt hamber epoxy mastic, i have ised their corrosion protection products and they were excellent so hopefully their epoxy mastic will be good although a bit dear at 35 quid for 1 litre , unless someone here knows a cheaper option.
That makes a sense.
Its for the car underbody mainly rear axle so my plan is to apply the epoxy mastic and then top coat it with some bilt hamber dynax ub underbody wax.
Thanks for your replies.
There is an epoxy primer from arcrite which they claim it is for chassis.

Or Bilt Hamber epoxy mastic which is slightly cheaper that rust buster one at 35 quid.
Is mastic thicker...
Good Evening all.
I am doing some work on my Rust loving Mercedes W210 , i had to wire brush some rust around the rear axle and treat it with Bilt hamber Hydrate 80.
I would like to buy some Epoxy paint for painting the affected areas but dont know what is the difference between Epoxy Mastic...
Hi all.
My Rtech MIG 180 inverter has just stopped working after less than one year ownership. it has been used every now and then to weld few patches on my cars, nothing major, still looks like new.
Today I turned it on as i wanted to weld a bracket but the welder will not arc, it does power...
