Some really interesting hobbies people have
Trains for me :waving: Full size Steam (Bluebell Railway) and Model (Massive Hornby layout and hundreds of engines and coaches).
I ended up going to Crawley college (Sussex) to do a course as I couldn't find anything near us (Sutton) a couple of years ago.
The level 1 mig was great and went on to do the level 2 which was just what I needed to do car "repairs".
Enjoyed the course so also did Arc and Oxy and Tig just for...
I have found Zurich Insurance good for valuable extras like machinery, and a model railway collection etc. All clearly on my policy as extras.
eg. Model Railway collection £15,000 :o
Garage equipment £5,000
The number of insurers that laugh and say of course we'll cover your train...

I have been doing the C&G courses and have done OXY1 ARC1 MIG1 and halfway thru MIG2 and then going to do TIG1
Have really enjoyed it and learnt alot.
Yes for me it has been an evening out each week (hobby) but my son has come along with me and we have been enjoying the evening together...
I've been doing courses at Crawley which are £190 per 10 weeks, which is 6pm until 9.30pm.
The course instructor has warned us that the government funding towards this is being withdrawn very soon. The course cost £499, I pay £190 and the rest is funded by some sort of grant, so be careful to...
The course at Crawley is highly recommended, we've done our Oxycetelene and start on the MiG after half term.:welder:
The Oxy cutting is great, "I can't believe its not butter" the way it melts :laughing:
