Hi everybody,
As things are now, I've ended up painting more and more cars, lots of repairs and stuff like that, and I've gotten completely fed up with crappy guns. So I'm thinking of getting one or two guns for primer and paint. I've been looking at Sata's RP line, since it seems to be a lot...
The big snail type blowers are a lot more quiet than a hair drier and they move 5 times the air. :D
As for cherry red nonsense, I agree, the hotter you get the piece before you start forming it the better, you can use a smaller hammer and won't wear yourself out as quickly, which is the...
I'd dish that plate a bit to create a pit around the ducks nest (the circle with holes in your forge). I'll take pics of mine when I get home, I have a quite big portable forge which can handle welding heat well when burning proper coal. The trick is to let the coal convert into coke before...
That 50% of the weight of the towing vehicle-law is a bit wacky since no matter how heavy the towing vehicle is compared to the trailer it won't stop the trailer from fishtailing under hard braking if they trailer isn't braked as well.
On a side note, I've often wondered if it wouldn't be...
Depends on how rotted they are, can you poke through them with a screwdriver and post some pics? Anyhow, small damage can be repaired with the body in place, for larger operations you'll have to remove the body, which isn't that hard actually, it's about 10-20 bolts to undo and 4 men to lift it...
A quick question, how do I know that I've had a flashback? And when the non-resettable arrestors go off, do they stop flowing all together? Or do you have to notice the flashback and replace them?
Anyhow, biggest reason for using resettable arrestors in a professional environment is that a...
Here in Finland most setups I've seen were rigged in a manner that between the incoming line from the grid and the board they've set up an removable power cable, so when the lights go they just pull out the cable from the grid and plug in the generator.
Thought I'll revive this thread.
Last summer one of the local power companies had a nasty accident, they were repairing a 20kV line from a skylift. The procedure is to open the switches for that line, visually inspect the switch to ensure that it's not welded from lightning damage or...
I have an Automig 273, wonderful machine, with 0.6mm wire it will weld really thin sheet, and with 1mm wire it welds just about anything, I havent tried anything thicker than 5mm but Im sure 8mm wouldnt be a problem.
I certainly wouldn't attempt it as I've read about tank welding that have gone wrong after precautions had been taken by professionals.
I wonder if emptying the tank is what kills people as there's only vapor left then... Still, pressuring the tank with argon or CO2 would be my way to go if I...
Here in Finland I think you need to tow a trailer with a vehicle heavier than the total mass of the trailer if it's un-braked. Dunno how it is with braked trailers or cars fitted with bigger-than-stock brakes...
Think I need to push the Oxy-Acetylene setup inside, it's been sitting beside my door for a year now, and the neighbors had an attempt at burglary made upon his house last weekend. :D
Well, the sound is because the blasted thing is vibrating like crazy, but why is beyond me. I'll continue to investigate, and next time I pop by a gas dealer I'll make sure to ask them.
Well, if they want naked men running about here on the forums, so be it. :D Maybe the lads here should do one of them "tasteful nudes"-calenders... you know, so it would be fair play... :D
Okay, the tank has over 200 bars in it, and today it moaned after shutting the tank valve until the reg was empty.
I did do a lot of starts and stops whilst welding some sheet, could the constant pressure changes have anything to do with it?
My dad has one of them really big unbraked trailers, so we do alright without the "little E"-type ones. Sure would be nice to have the little E for lugging cars about, but I'm looking into buying a truck for that as well... :D
