Hi guys sorry, for no updates, I ended up dropping in some large box section, capped the top and bottom and concreted them in, went down fairly deep, and they are solid
Thanks guys, if I go with h frame how deep should I go and would 100x100 5mm be suitable, a place reasonably local has this steel in stock
Photos attached for gates in question...
Hi all, recently bought a new house, has some nice front gates, which have been previously mounted on the brick pillars, but the bricks are pulling away due to weight of the gates.
My plan is to concrete some box section in the ground and mount the gates to these.
the gates are electric (not...
I wont be putting any concrete in, for my needs the lathe sat on the reinforced area is perfect for me, it's currently sat in a flimsy shed now with nowhere near the strength of the new one and does just fine
I can put extra joists in no problem, they are only spaced like that to sit on the concrete blocks, hadn't really thought much about the floor up until now, I designed the shed so the floor can go in after it's built, so can change it in the future as well if needed without taking the shed apart
The current shed has these, as there is just a little too much flex in them.
I used 18mm OSB 3 for the roof and was £16 a sheet i think? but was 18mm, s that too thin for the floor, i'd have to go for the thicker stuff
Yeh i have a reinforced section where the lathe is going, nothing else heavy in there really, just some work benches, then the other side is just general shed storage stuff
Hello,
yes i have a lathe going in there, i have an off cut from when i redone the house laying in there at the mo accross the beams and it just felt strong no flex in the floor. But seems like the chip board floor is a no go then, there is the green coated ones for moisture though??
Havent...
Hi yes I have put some proper Dpm under each beam where it touches the blocks
I think I might do as you did slimboy that's the same idea I had in my head, wrap it over staple it down then chuck the boards on top
Hi guys, almost finished build my shed/workshop
Just after a bit of advice when putting the floor in. I want to use t&g chipboard flooring because it will be thick a strong and easy to lay.
Now my base is sat on concrete blocks above ground level and stones laid on the ground so the frame has...
Hello guys, I have recently got myself a record no. 24 vice with quick release.
I want to take it apart so I can paint and re-grease etc, what's the right way to separate it?
