It's hard to see the bottum. The top looks nice n clean but low amprage. Technice looks spot on.try playing around a bit with your amps. Vs your first post you improved greatly. Well done m8.
Don't bash on mig, it's an amazing tool. Like someone said before, "mig is a great tool for construction, tig is an art form". You don't need to understand welding to make a nice looking beed with mig, that dosn't mean it's a good weld, but it's doable. Tig truly is an art form. You need to...
Like backpurge said, pause a little longer before weaving back to the other side, but the amp and wire spead don't say much without knowing the whe width of your base metal. But all in all, for a first virtical it looks pretty good.
What machine did you get? Congrads on Lorch! I work with a Lorch V30 mobile, amazing machine. If I can help with any fine tuning Ild be happy to. The lorch mig welders are insain! I have a S5 with speed pulse, never welded soo fast in my life. At 285 amps I have the wire speed at 13.6 and hardly...
I'm King tig. You may call me "Your Grace". I won't even take offence at the American remark so you can keep your head... lol (I'm more Israeli now than American. I hope that dosnt apose a problem I watch bbc now and again). I've watched a few of his vids, he's not that bad, but I've seen...
So I'm understanding no preheat, keep the temp down and minimize stress? I cant braze so I have to weld. I have er-70 ,308, 309, 314 and fagersta 307 (used for armor) or electrodes zika 6013. what would you go with?
Hey guys,
I have zero exp with cast iron, but a guy I work with asked me to weld a cast iron plate from his fire place that cracked right down the middle. Is that doable?
Zink is only about corosion. I wouldnt try to tig it, it will kill your tungsten and the zink oxcide created from the arc (if inhaled enough, looks like white flakes floting around) will kill you faster than four packs of smokes a day. I'm not sure about what tempreture it oxcodises but I think...
Thought we were talking about a home set up. As far as I know Fronius costs a very pretty penny and I doubt that anyone would set up a robot for CMT in the shed. So to try to help the guy with somthing he can actualy afford, I'll stay with silver brazing.
