You’re right, they burnt through the cable and it cut out.
Also, they used the Eco version, which doesn’t have all the nice features or the Pro board allowing pulse with every process. The pro models (red and grey) also have the LCD screen and much higher duty cycles.
Seemed like a bit of a...
Thanks for your concern;
Not on this occasion as I’m in no rush and doing some thorough research online first thanks to the helpful element of this forum.
I have spent a few grand in my time on welding equipment I think, every penny in a ‘welding supplies’ and purchased all my stuff in...
Lol. :scared:
I once grabbed a 200 degree C baking tray from the oven with my bare hand in a fit of stupidity. The kitchen smelled like frying bacon rinds for a while.
I really don’t know what axe you’re trying to grind here pal.
You seem to be desperate catch me out for some reason.
My words. Yes. So what?
If I’m paying half as much as a U.K. supplied machine I take a risk. Life is about risks, you should try it.
I ride motorcycles (and have owned 180mph...
Edit: Just noticed by watching it on YouTube that the welder burnt through the earth cable just before the machine died. Otherwise:
Good video.
Paton seem to run two ranges, Eco and Pro. The Eco is the one tested here and is much cheaper.
I’m hoping the Pro is a better affair. Although to be...
Of course it’s not a U.K. dealer.
Have you even read the whole thread? We are talking about various Polish sellers.
If it hurts your sensibilities that people might buy stuff further afield than their back doors, perhaps you’d be better off avoiding these sort of threads.
You’ve hounded me...
Yes, I’m looking at various MMA machines and now leaning towards a Paton for the Pulse MMA feature.
I looked at the Lincoln and thought the specs didn’t gel with the exorbitant price tag :o hence the thread.
Thanks for the insights, I will bear this information in mind.
Ok guys, I need your help.
Tangledfeet kindly pointed me in this direction reference these Paton machines where he responded on my Pulse MMA thread.
I can’t seem to get the desire to own a pulse MMA unit out of my head and I’m no brand snob so....
I’ve identified the Paton VDI 200P as a Pulse...
I’m not really jonesing for a Lincoln inverter, I was just asking the question why they were so dear with such pedestrian features and duty cycles.
I’m not sure I’d pay 50% of what is asked list as better machines (in my opinion) are that sort of price from the likes of EWM, Lorch, Fronius, and...
Would you say I’m barking up the wrong tree to even attempt it in the thin stuff mentioned above Munkul?
I have a brand new Xcaliber Eurostar 150 sat in my utility room which I’ve never played with, I’d just need the gas to get going. I’m a bit frightened about welding indoors with that thing...
My father had two Renault 21’s.
The first was a 1985 1.7 carb model which was a hugger to start when warm (but not hot) due to fuel evaporation (an issue shared by my Fiat Regatta 85 twin choke). The 1.7 R21 was nice and comfy but at 90bhp a little underpowered.
Next he had a 2.0i which flew...
I’m still interested in Pulse MMA for larger sections, where the control element might flatter my limited abilities.
If anyone has any input on that subject?
By ‘all over’ I take it you mean the rod will be no more, just a puddle of molten goo?:vsad::flame:
I have a TIG torch that I got with the Jasic but I’ve never learnt to use it, nor bought gas. Looks like I need to learn the TIG process. :dontknow:
Hi all,
Following on from the unearthings of my ‘High End MMA unit’ thread I discovered PULSE MMA welding exists.
The more I’ve looked into this, the more attractive it looks to me.
I have a project I want to embark on welding some thinner sections of bright steel rod and flat bar.
We are...
