A 1lb tub is £50 but there's a guy that sells it in little baggys of like 2 Ounces or 4 ounces etc. He also puts the distance that the amount will cover. And he posts worldwide

Just knock up a purge block with lots of holes in and pump some argon thru it and away you go. The ones in the pic are curved because that's obviously the shape they were welding

You need to purge the other side of the weld. when you weld one side the inside oxidises
Either seal the box up and use a Y piece from your regulator with a hose pumping argon into the box. Or if you can't seal it use a purge block. Not sure that's the correct name for it. I found a pic of one...
