Bamo, did you complete this conversion ?
I’ve just ordered a euro kit for my 2135 and would be interested in if the euro socket fitted in the existing plastic collar that is part of the welder body or did you need to make something else up ?
Thanks
I have a 2135 and have ordered a euro conversion kit for it. I’ve removed the old torch and new one should be here next week.
Just wondering if anyone has fitted a euro conversion to this welder as I’m scratching my head about how the euro bulk head fitting will fit to the front panel.

Long wheelbase t4 caravelles fetch strong money as they are the ideal base to convert but it’s all relative, although it may cost a fair whack to buy one they hold their value well and have definitely risen in price from when I bought mine in 2008.
Exuptoy, nice van, definitely nicer to drive...
It’s just going to be a Day van type of set up, I had a Bay when I was 18 and always wanted to have a go at restoring one.
My t4 is a full camper so the bay will be just a bit of fun, I’ve built the t4 from a panel van to camper, did everything apart from elevating roof myself, custom bodywork...
That’s what this is going to be like I think, time/motivation dependant, want to do it justice so won’t be a quick project plus it’s all new to me.
I built my t4 myself from just a van but a rusty old bay older than me is another ball game !
Yep I know that feeling, I bought this bus on a whim in August 2016, took it to Garage I rent and started ripping it apart, but a four and two year old seem to sap all my time.
Recently cleared the garage out at home so bought it home so I can nip out to Garage and do bits whenever I get the...
Just had look on pc, fair play, some work gone into that, I’m hoping when I get mine on it’s side it’s not that bad.. but at least I know where to come for advise if it is ;)
See you have a t5 as well, I’ve got a t4 camper so like you this is just a project toy.
3 !! Christ, well I’ve got both rear arches panels welded over top, lower rear corners and the front crossmember all welded over top, I mean I’m no expert but surely it can’t take much more effort to do properly, especially when you take the amount of filler on side panels into consideration.
totally understand that, motor factors my sgs bottle came from is open 7 days a week and between Christmas/new year so worked out well for me as a home user.
Chassis is mostly really good, small section needed replacing where it’s closed by front jacking point, and inside of leg has a badly tacked on patch that I’ll cut out and do properly, but from the underseal I’ve removed from rest of chassis it’s looking pretty good.
Once it’s turned on it’s...
The other side is worse and the d pillar looks a bit ropey on this side so think it will be a case of removing this whole corner when the time comes, that will be after I’ve managed to roll the shell and get the underside tip top though.
Here’s a little repair I did on the rear corner, where the bulge/swage had rotted out.
This is my first ever bit of proper fabrication and tried my best to replicate bulge but don’t actually have any forming tools so rounded it over on a hammer shaft, then welded the return edge on after
I had welding I wanted to get on with and had ran out of gas, boc not open till Tuesday so it was fate that decided for me, but as it turns out it’s going to be the right choice for my personal situation.
I’m surprised boc don’t actually offer a similar scheme of rent free bottles for the...
Yeah, I’ve already spent about £600 with schofields, not much for them they don’t do.
Unfortunately the pleasure of owning a rhd uk Bay is offset with the amount work they need !
Front panel and chassis are really good.
Got sills and both rear sides/corners and roof to do.
Won’t be a quick project by any means, the plan is to turn it back into a panel van and slam it on its ****.
Sgs have just told me I get £20 cashback so my bottle deposit is actually £65 and fully refundable with no time limit.
Like has been said there is no ‘one size fits all’
My 10litre boc bottle lasted me 10 years, so although I have more welding to do now, this sgs 20litre (filled to 210bar)...
