After some days of consideration, I think that the EWM Picomig 180 Pulse is the best choice. In the huge review on this machine ( https://www.mig-welding.co.uk/forum/threads/ewm-picomig-180-puls-single-phase.87645/ ) is mentioned that the machine is suppied with a roller setup with V-grooves...
Thank you Hood. If you, or any other contributor, would suggest to buy a three-phase machine, I'm open for all opinions on that.
Another possibility would be to use a three phase machine at home, and use my TIG machine (with MMA) on locations with single phase. I prefer MIG however...
Thats a great suggestion Tom, thanks! However, if I'm correct the pulse function is only available on the 3000 and up series, making the unit twice the price of the other competitors. Please correct me if I'm wrong, but in my mind Fronius is álways twice the price ;-)
Thank you for your replies! The TIG and Arc functions are already available on my GYS 207 AC/DC machine, so that should be covered.
Another competitor might be the EWM Picomig 185, but as mentioned in the thorough review, that machine is about €1915; €259,- more expensive. If I'm correct, the...
Hello all,
Although I'm from the Netherlands, there seems to be a lot of knowledge about all the machines that are on the market.
About 15 years ago, when I was still a student, I bought my first welder. It's a Conti single phase machine, but its very heavy, bulky, and in amperage setting 5/6...
Hi all,
I am looking for a AC/DC Tig welder, but as you know, there is a lot to choose from.
In the beginning I was looking at Jasic, Stahlwerk etc. I am looking for a machine that is of good quality, but for my hobby-use I dont want to spend a ton of money on the A-label machines (ESAB...
Thank you again,
Jim, I suppose the contact with Arthur is relating to second hand machines? My experience is that professional welding shops have new machines starting at €2000,-...
When looking a bit closer on the website/shop nearby for the Jasic, I noticed something strange:
Here is the...
Thank you all for your replies.
Wildefalcon, Stahlwerk indeed looks like a machine that might suit my needs, and has plasma. The best of both worlds might be an utopia,...but it sure is tempting. I hope to hear/read more about this machine in this post, or other sources.
Jim Davey, used...
Hello all,
I am a fulltime employee, but in my spare time I am always making, creating and repairing things. My main project at this moment is restauring a 1957 Landrover, and maintaining the other one (S3 ambulance).
All the welding I do is done with my Conti-Weld MIG machine. This is a heavy...
Hello all,
I recently posted a topic about my cooked Migatronic Automig 140 Mono S.
I also posted the news that I have bought another one, because I failed to repair the Migatronic.
My working one is a occasionally used semi-pro Mig welder.
In my broken Migatronic there are parts that...
Hello all,
I was here before to ask you about a Migatronic MIG welder that was broken. It was a give-away one, but after making many phonecalls I decided to let him rest in peace. The transformer is busted.
On a Dutch online selling-website called marktplaats.nl there was this MIG machine...
Hello Alec,
Thank you for your reply.
This MIG machine does have a small board with fine electronics, but I dont know the right translation for it. Those electronics are shielded by a 400mA fuse, and that one didnt blow.
Elco's are, as Gert-Jan mentioned, capacitors. In my search for...
Dear welders,
My name is Gert Oskam, and im a 21 year old student from the Netherlands. Im currently restoring a 1957 Landrover Series 1, 107" StationWagon. Landrovers are my passion, especially the old ones.
