I've googled this and now I'm just confused by conflicting answers so...
If a 300amp inverter mig runs off a 16amp 240v supply what KVA generator do I need to run it with out having nuisance breaker trips every minute?
I'm looking at making an indirect hot air heating system for a 20x10ft spray booth, this needs to be done on the cheap how ever it also needs to be safe so please point out if I have missed the not so obvious area where the potential explosion will happen...
I'm planning on using the gas flame...
I'll explain in a little more detail... I'm moving in to doing recovery and tipper bodies but there is no room for a fork lift from either side due to the ceiling height in the workshop, the work area is 20x10ft in front the main doors where the ceiling has been removed. A gantry on wheels would...
Ah right so nothing to do with the weight it will support then. So if I go with a light beam with a thin(ish) centre cross section which is deeper between the flanges I can save some weight but still retain the strength? So a beam of 254x102x5.2mm over 9ft supporting 1500kg in the middle with...
Hello clever people I'm looking at making a mobile lifting gantry that will support 1000-1500kg max and it needs to be 9ft wide to fit between the beams in the workshop. What size of RSJ do I need obviously overkill as in terms of SWL is a consideration but what does say 63 or 77 meters per ton...
The electrics to the whole farm are a bit of nightmare as a whole if I am honest and have since been found to be potentially lethal. I've been in my workshop for the past 6 years wired up by a domestic sparky using armoured cable not understanding that 4 core cable using 3 lives + neutral and...
What sort of amps does a 300-400 3 phase MIG draw when running flat out? I'm looking at getting a second hand machine to replace my 200 amp single phase but my current 3 phase supply is no where near up to the job as it's currently only supplying power to run a mill, lathe, saw and they only draw...
I'll have a play with some ducting and a fan tomorrow after I've stripped it all down and removed the melted plastic intake filter from the head, valves and every where else it's not intended to be
Ah just had a thought, still put the small radiator/intercooler in front of the pump pulley and run water through it but use it to cool the passing air around the pump head?
It's against a wall in a 10x20ft room, I've looked at 12v and 240v fans but then would it not be fighting against the one that is part of the pump pulley? I just thought direct contact/heat sink would be better?
I have a clarke 17cfm compressor pump that is getting to hot in this weather and poking extra cooling holes in the wall next to it is not an option, I thought about ducting air to it but I might just as well pour sand in to the intake filter. What I've been thinking of doing is wrapping some 8mm...
