I've always used hobbyweld from Wellington, no rent just a deposit. Find them great, the plus size bottle works out cheap for what I do. £70 ish for a refill, I get through 2 a year roughly. Also have argon from them. The small size bottle is a waste of time, small size and much lower pressure...
Hi Peps.
I've been using my little Xts for over a year and it runs faultlessly. Love the way it welds.
At home I am running off a 32A RCD and I have had hours of welding with no issue. I occasionally take it to other places, and I have found the last two places I tried it would trip the mains...
Can I ask here for a specific thing, I'm literally just starting, have about 2 hrs welding with tig. I'm using a Sherman 206p, and I'm using the base set up in the Jasic 200 manual.
I'm finding running a bead on flat 2mm Ali is ok. I know it's not perfect, but I can see how I need to get...
I just wanted to post to say I did my first ever tig weld today. I know it's not very good but I did want to share to encourage others.
I've been wanting to teach myself tig for years, just got the Sherman and I was actually putting off trying it because if my first attempt has been totally...
Mine turned up today, and I have stupidly forgotten to ask for English instructions. Is there a link to any online? Or does anyone have a set they could scan for me?. I just need the basic controls, I'm new to tig and some of the emblems are so tiny I can't see what they are.
Ok. Thanks . I'm not trying to prove you wrong having asked for help, but I think I've found it?? Does this look right?

Been far too busy lately. I got to actually have a look at the compressor a couple of days ago, and it is the brand new NRV that is leaking. No idea why I thought switch, brain fade and the air is exiting via the switch.
Anyway, no dirt in it, the rubber is good so I think weak spring. Can I...
Thanks, I'm trying to work out in my head if that idea works, it might. Actually, it drains till empty through the switch valve, so it must be? or it would only drain the feed pipe. It is brand new, and has only been used a couple of times, could it have just stuck?
I will go and have another...
Hi All
As the title really. The 200lt compressor I rebuilt a while ago-I stupidly went against advice and put a cheapo pressure switch from fleecebay on it, and it has already failed. It was working, till I slightly upped the working pressure, and the de pressuring valve popped and now leaks...
I weld galvanised all the time, because i mostly work on boat trailers, they are obviously gavanised at manufacture, but it's a bit rubbish to weld new bits on that are't galvanised, they rust instantly. I just make sure I grind enough of the galv off where I am welding, so that it is far enough...
