Resurrecting an old thread as @jonot2008 needed some close-up pictures of one of the boards in the plasma cutter.
Hopefully this way, the pictures can be useful to anyone else too :)
These should all be clickable thumbnails...
Overview #1- can see most SM components in focus(ish):

Hi @decca that all sounds correct (or at least just like mine!). The HF should stop after a few seconds of no arc - I think this does happen before the pedal beeps occur.
As you say, power off and it "forgets" the pedal was attached.
While I know lots of others have also said this, it's probably worth starting by reiterating that I think the reason the Sherman Tig was so popular was because it appears to be a Jasic ACDC mini / pro at a much lower price.
However, I've got one of their migs too...
I think Paulo's idea is so you can test it and rule the torch / umbilical out (i.e. the equivalent of pressing the trigger but without a torch connected)
If in any doubt, put the wire in the sockets while the welder is off, ensuring it's only touching the two trigger sockets, then turn it on at...
Hi all, replied on the other thread with my findings.
In brief, my euro connector appears much the same (i.e. offset gas port), but it does supply gas as intended. As suggested above, unfortunately I can't hear the solenoid over the fan and wirefeed motor starting up.
Would be worth testing...
Just to update you on my findings - the gas port in the euro connector is similarly offset on mine.
I didn't dismantle it again to check the solenoid, and haven't tried welding with it on gas yet, but did quickly connect up some low pressure gas and connect up a cheap torch. The solenoid is...
Hi Nathan, sorry to hear that - that's very disappointing. Please keep us posted.
It does have a gas solenoid - it's mounted on the inside of the rear panel (you might be able to see the brass ferrule top right in my "overview" photo), which is reasonably easy to access for checking if it's...
When I did similar to the Clarke 90, a little distant memory so can't be sure on details; but as I recall, I got a 240v solenoid and took it off the 240v that goes via the panel switches to the transformer. (I.e. before power switches).
(I.e. No power when not welding, power when welding)
Aha...
So this is a fair point. I found the cable nice and flexible but in fairness, my big gripe with the Sherman was its torch, not so much the cable/pipe. I think you'd find the sheath a little more flexible but as you say, it's still separate gas and power so won't be as flexible as the super duper...
@Gazz292 - apologies if this is a repeat for you, but back on the thread you'll see a few of us have bought the Kennedy flex torches from Zoro tools. They've very cheap and seem remarkably good quality. Hobby use only here, obvs.
You'll need to swap over a few plugs though - if you buy the...
Agreed wholeheartedly; many have had ample chance to get in, and you can bet this won't be the last bargain welder. If you haven't, there's other suppliers easily found (though perhaps not as cheap), and there's always the intermediary drop-ship (sorry not the right term) options.
I'd tend to...
Hi @Richard Stowe - I've not got one but I do recall some surprise from members that they're supplied by a 2 core flex (i.e. no earth).
I can't quite tell from your image, but that certainly still appears to be the case for those on eBay.
I'm not overly keen on a metal cased device without an...
@T689 interesting. @www_weldes_de announced a while back they'd been asked to pull it from eBay.
It's still available on eBay via other sources but not at such a good price.

They're not great (they're mine, not insulting others!) but should give you an idea.
As a few people have asked for plugs etc again, here's a post...
I agree wholeheartedly. Good to read everyone's experience - most definitely :)
We did do some experiments with the side-pot after seeing the wiper-end way it was wired up. It seems pointless as it would be easier to set the max at the welder. (edit: Sorry, as Chris has just said!)
Hi @mdr - it is a variable control (though the welder must be put into pedal mode first, by holding the pedal down for 5-ish secs) - this is not reflected on the display when not welding.
I think it shows current when welding though, but haven't used it in a month-ish, so may be misremembering...
For a quicker (arriving) m10 swivel barb, I've used these before. Quick enough but note the small hose tail/barb. Fits the typically supplied silicone pipe with those adapter kits though. Might have to tighten a jubilee clip right up though, or a small enough one ear crimp...
