May not be cheap. But made in UK at small scale. Useful to people who don't have skills or others lacking time. I think the 2" belt is a cheap default for what is available from belt supplier's. If you want bigger look at cost of belts available and choose width and length that is cheapest for...
Hi,
Basically I have about 14 panels on a southern roof and 8 on an easterly roof. Was thinking of moving to a westerly or onto flat roof extension recently put in?
Cons of moving is how it affects fit second there is no obvious place that has good sun in winter. Also worried that securing to...
Bought a bungalow 6 years ago already fitted with two sets of panels. Currently receive 14p per kilowatt. Has a 4kw inverter but has never produced more than 2. 7kw.
If I move one set of solar panels to a better location does this affect my fit? Any ideas how to work out effiency for...
I've recently gone gluten free. Looking to get back into bread making as GF bread is really expensive and getting hard to find in shops.
What receives do you use? Anything special to look for?

For me the connectors were more important than size of tube. The smaller the tube the greater the restriction pushing wort through. This can effect the size of pump required. Or height it will pump.
I'd question why you NEED a Herm's/,rims system?
The biggest difference in brewing I ever made...
Here's a picture of my Herm's. Bought a asparagus boiler at a car boot for £2. Fitted an old kettle element in the bottom. Used 8mm copper pipe. Filled with salt sealed ends and bent around some pipe. Getting the sharp turns without kinks was hard. Almost as hard as removing the salt. Ended...
That sounds like my experience with tech arc. Took an old tig welder in as HF and gas had stopped working. I live near by and stood in there loading bay for a long half hour trying to find my welder after being called with quote for repair(£350+). As I bought it for £150 a few years earlier...
Full face visor or better yet powered respirator with full visor.
Bought a Jupiter set several years ago for £100. Best money i ever spent. Obviously new is stupid money and second hand have gone crazy. But once you start using them and get used to the weight of the waistbelt and wearing a full...
Be carefully of the sap from knotweeds. The burns are light sensitive. Work with someone who had scars he can't let much sun onto without blisters forming.
For knotweed try stem injection. We had loads at work, the the stems were injected about five years ago. Its only starting yo come back...
My press is small! About 500mm x 750mm it takes up a small space in a shed. Thinking about it my fermenters take up loads more space even when stacked.
Your cider should finish fermenting in a month or so. I tend to leave fermenters going longer than most. 1st racked off a gallon yesterday made...
What's your main goal? Restoring tools to use or optimising making apple juice?
Those screw presses aren't that efficient at pressing. The pulp feels wet when your done. Have you got a scratter for pulping fruit?
I have made a small press that uses a 10ton jack. I use net curtains for cloths. I...
The quill handles have been sanded off after I tried rubbing them with aluminium foil. The foil trick work but the corrosion was too extensive. Also I don't think it was a long term solution.
Here are the colour lock handles. Some are alright others are like the quill handles.
The drill is for...
Hi all,
I'm in the middle of repairing a meddings mb2 drill. The chrome plating on all of the handles have rusted through the chrome plating. I would like to improve the look of these without breaking the bank.
I've seen plating kits on evil bay. Not cheap and I'm unsure of the results. Would...
A 300mm rail anvil will restrict what you can work. 6mm will be OK anything over 10mm will be hard work.
Here are a couple of images stolen from iforge iron. Improvised anvils.
Having the rail end on gives more mass to resist blows, hence more metal moved. You can grind an edge on the web of...
Why bother welding a face on? Are you going to forge weld this plate on? If not it will have a small air space between it and the rail. When ever I have looked at hard face rods they were EXPENSIVE.
Two choices.
First use the piece of rail, end on. Anvils work best with mass below point of...
Biggest issue is how tight I am! Need to see if I can knock something up I the shed. Then go and put !y hand in my pocket and buy something.
Thanks
Andrew
Hi all,
I'm in the middle of stripping down an old medding mb2 drill. I need to remove some bearings from the 3ph electric motor.
I usually use bearing pullers at work but don't think I will be going onsite for a few more weeks.
What homemade bearing pullers are they're that don't take days to...
Hi everyone.
I'm not that electrically minded. But I would like to find some small connectors for three wire sensors and a cheap 12v transformer. I have a couple of projects which I want to easily disconnect some sensors for ease of moving pieces.
One project is for controlling humidity in a...
