im going for it
the 5 year warranty surely means they think its of fairly good quality and it does look better than the draper on so feck it
il update when I have tried it out on a few rsj's I need to cut down!
would you recommend this plasma cutter to a first timer?
I cant decide between the draper, this one or one of the Chinese ones
I must admit though looking at this one and then back at the draper, the stahlwerk definitely appears to have a better torch and earth cable
iv got a 16amp supply in my garage
I can fit a 32amp if needed as I have a good feed
tig and mig off the 16 amp and have minimal issues
I reckon the stahlwerk looks like it has a better torch...maybe a better option than the draper
or is this really a better machine?

Plasma Arc starting differences.
HF Contact start
HF contact start uses high frequency generated inside the machine to jump the gap between torch cutting tip and workpiece so you simply rest the tip onto workpiece, press the trigger and the machine will automatically start...
this doesn't look to different

im not expecting snap on I just thought it may be slightly better than an out and out Chinese snyde
but I also down want to buy a pile of **** hence the question
hi all
im in the market for a plasma cutter and just wanted opinions on this particular machine???
iv seen some good deals about on it and thought as it has draper on the side it cant be that bad and only marginally more expensive than the Chinese stuff
however I was about to buy it when I...
i have not in actual fact said that i will be connecting it up
i wanted to install everything so when the electrician comes he can check over what i have done and then hook up to the mains and while at it and moving tails can install a 100a main switch for when in future any work needs to be...
i understand that it has to be done live
iv actually just bought a 100 amp main switch so at least once the tails have been moved from the consumer unit its the only live work needed
but after that id like to be able to easily isolate the garage from down house
what switch would you...
yes
but i want to give the garage its own tails and supply from the meter
im probably being over cautios but at my old roperty when i was welding the power would always trip everything down the house out aswell as the garage so want to avoid it this time if possible
im sure it can be done...
thats not quite the same lol
i just want to know what sort of switch i need at the supply end and a suitable size...a rotary isolator, an MCB in an enclosure, a double pole isolator...a cooker 45 amp switch even lol????
cheers

so at the garage end il be installing probably a 5 or 8 way consumer unit with RCB's...so pretty standard
