Maybe a daft question!
I've run out of wire, 0.8,for my 160te Clarke welder.
Now I need some ASAP, but wanted to ask a question. Is there a difference between sip and mig welding wire? Or are the same and fine to use in both?
Thanks for the reply. What should the lpm be set at? I also tended to hold the torch directly over the metal, rather than. 90 degree angle. If this makes a difference?
So my first attempt with my Clarke 160te mig. Errrrrr slightly worse than I expected. The settings were, power 1 on min, wire feed 5. I did try on 6, but it pushed back and blew holes. And on 20 gauge steel. Have the hobby weld 5, original Argon mix. Feed back appreciated.

I bought, some years ago, a Wesco single stage regulator to fit onto a up right cylinder, but since I've got a hobby weld gas cylinder which has the connection on the side, so the two dials are on the side not up right.

Excellent! It was pretty much down to this forum, and your thread, why I bought a mig welder! Why pay £40+ an hour, when you can sweat, cry, and get angry doing it yourself :)
