It’s all about warranties / insurance with waterproofing. Anything below ground is considered basement work (even 100mm) and is treated the same as though you were 5 stories down into the dirt. Absolute madness but it’s the approach the insurers are taking. The detail that the architect has...
If insulating between your rafters you need to maintain a 50mm air gap (vented at eaves) from the underside of the tile battens to the top face of the insulation. So if your rafters are 150mm deep, pop in 100mm rigid insulation boards aligned with the underside of the rafter. If you’re needing...
Composite sheets will generally exceed the span capacity of the purlin that they’re supported on. For roof arrangements on new build sheds you tend to find anywhere between 1200-1800mm centres for purlin spacing, dictated by the design of the rails. Composite sheets can be installed directly...
Sorry if I seem like I’m going on a bit but dropping that amount of weight so quickly is likely going to give you other problems. Firstly, you’re going to run into issues with slowing of your metabolism. This means that when you start increasing your calories again, even in a moderate way, it is...
As you’re not needing to cut a certain amount of weight by 8 weeks I would recommend the more sustainable approach that I mentioned previously. Better for your long term goal and the possibility of keeping the weight off!
As an additional little help if you’re struggling to keep track of what...
Do you need to lose a specific amount of weight by the 8 week mark? The reason for asking is that following such a drastically low calorie count will negatively impact your metabolism. This is the reason why a large percentage of people who do crash diets rebound when they start eating normally...

Here’s one I made up for my old man a while back. It’s a permanent fixture in a blockwork tub but a similar arrangement could be done that is demountable. Aluminium so quite light to move around by hand.
I’ve got roofing membrane on and there’s a batten / counter batten going on so shouldn’t hopefully need the anti condensation coat.
Will check out the Bedec gear, thanks!
I’ve managed to grab a load of single skin metal roof sheets off a job I’ve been working on to clad a shed I’m building at the house but would like to give them a paint before fitting as the existing colour isn’t great.
I’m looking for suggestions on a paint to use? Ideally single coat...
The LED headlights were a styling option so the loom and associated gubbins are more than likely to be the same. Exact same cars only this one being a year newer than the white one we have.
It wasn’t flagging a fault with the LED unit installed but obviously wasn’t operating as it should. We have two of these cars, one that had the LED headlights and one that has the halogens so I checked the halogen unit on the LED car before buying new.
The light arrangement between the two...
Just to close this off. With the MOT now due and me not having the time, nor the desire to start chasing the electrical fault further I’ve forked out and replaced both headlights (halogen type) instead of the single LED unit. £250 for two halogen aftermarket parts vs the £400-600 for the single...
Headlight has a main board which feeds off to each individual bulb. All other lights in the unit work as they should so presume it must be this specific LED board that is at fault?
The LED did function before just not correctly (flickering when on DRL then intermittently working albeit dimmer...
Finally managed to get the headlight split open, absolute pain of a job!
The offending item. Any ideas how to find out who manufactures these? Tried the serial numbers in Google but no luck. What would this type of chip typically be referred as?
Scanning the QR code looking thing didn’t...
Barely anything unfortunately. I’ll pull the headlight off when I get time over the Christmas break and see if I can get a better look. Thanks for the help so far
Guessing it’s just going to be a case of ripping it apart and seeing what’s there! Plenty videos online of folk retrofitting similar style units to older cars so hopefully it should be straightforward
The two main headlight bulbs are accessible via rubber covers and these are both bog standard H7/11 style. The LED portion of the DRL / position lamp is however concealed and looking into the casing via the main headlight bulb access panels didn’t give much away.
Car parts for less do list a...
Thanks for the offer mate. The one with the orange coloured indicator is the earlier (and cheaper) variety unfortunately. We actually have two of these cars, one the earlier type and the other one with the fault which is this style...
When the Autospark had a look at it a while back he mentioned that he switched over the power supplies and that it definitely was the unit at fault. He was brought in whilst the car was going through an mot so never had the chance to ask the question about repairing rather than replacing.
I’ve...
Been looking a while and unfortunately they don’t come up very often for this model. I’ve only seen one and the breakers are obviously aware of the cost of a new unit as it was listed at over £300!
