I've got used to Sketchup (an old, free version), and kind of like the way it works, but am frequently frustrated by it.
So I'm looking for:
something more grown-up, that works properly.
can export industry standard file formats for CNC and 3D printing (which I can send to someone else).
I...
When I had nothing better to do, I stumbled across this photo, and really like the idea.
Any thoughts on keeping the extension level and rigid? Without having tried it, I'd be concerned about the amount of slop on this.
My diagram is grossly simplified but yeah, it is for steering on a tadpole trike / velomobile.
I'd rather use ball joints (like a grown up car) but I figure fabrication is going to be simpler with rose joints (or I guess this type of track rod end).
Good to know the female joints are stronger...
Does anyone have any experience of this sort of rose joints, typically used for kart track rods?
I'm interested in using them in this sort of arangement (ie not for kart track rods), and wondering what roughly sort of loads they would withstand.
From what I can see, the mounting stud is usually...
Thanks everyone.
Any thoughts on brands which may be better quality?
My guess is Machinemart is no better than anything off eBay, but at least you can return something easily if it's crap.
WNS is more expensive - do you get much more when you pay that much more?
I'm considering a 24" version. Do you think your mods would be enough for that? (How long id a piece of string?!) And what mods did you do? Do you have photos?
That's not encouraging :-(
Does anyone have any experience (good or bad) of this type of 3 in 1 guilotine / brake / roller?
And if they're a reasonable bit of kit, any brands to avoid / prefer?

I think @Paul. has the answer with Daver, in Sheffield. They look as though they'll save me a lot of cutting at the same time and still seem pretty reasonably priced.
Just out of curiosity and learning new tricks, @Ashley Burton, do you mean running the disc or the body of the grinder along the...
I've been searching for an age and can't find unequal angle mind steel less than 3mm thick and in most cases 4mm.
Ideally I'd like something like 20x40x2mm. Any thoughts?
A friend has asked me if I'm interested in trying some stainless steel TIGing for him and I'm up for giving it a go.
But I've not used the AC on my welder before, and I've not done anything as thick before!
The welds will be a couple of inches long, fillet welds on 10mm thick 316. I will be...
Maybe im asking the wrong question?
I'm trying to avoid the fumes and deposits (which I assume is undesirable contamination) when I TIG BZP fasteners (typically nuts). My searches for fasteners that are un-coated haven't been extensive, but searching for "fasteners that aren't BZP" tends to turn...
