Hi, just after a bit of advice about uPVC doors.
I noticed when it was raining heavily the other day that the frame was full of water so trying to clear the drains out.
The water is filling the inner drain in the but just sitting there. Bottom ones on the outside look dry.
It feels like the...
I was actually just reading the pressure washer thread as the Karcher that I have acquired from the in-laws is on its last legs, same as all the previous karchers I’ve had.
I might look at hiring a decent one to get the job done for now
Thanks for the advice chaps, the lead was my primary concern and hadn’t even considered any dust from the wall itself.
I’m assuming even manual wire brushing will generate a level of dust so respiratory protection is still advised?
Would applying a paint stripper beforehand help the job or...
Evening all,
my brick garage has a coating of flaking paint that needs addressing.
I started attacking it with a paint removal disc in an angle grinder hoping it would make it a speedy job.
I then thought this is an old house and I’ve no idea how long this paint has been in place, so there...
Thanks, I don’t have any spraying equipment as discussed above so have a few solvent based rattle cans from advanced paints.
I ordered some Kawasaki green via eBay and emailed them to ask about compatible white & purple basecoats and clearcoat.
They were quite helpful pointing me to the products...
When painting multiple colours, what drying times do you need between them?
Do you need to let the first fully cure before masking and painting the second colour or do you need to do it all in one session?
I’ve got the same ones to fit in my garage, looking at the part number they are the 4000k ones too?
I wasn’t sure which colour to go for but I think the 6400k ones look too sterile, happy with the light the 4000k give
I changed the rear pads on my qashqai and just removed the motor then used a torx bit and a clamp to wind the pistons back in.
The motors whirred away a bit when I restarted the car to reset themselves then they just functioned as normal after that
Hi all,

I am a complete novice and have no manual milling experience but would like to learn the programming side and practice making small pieces.
Do people recommend learning the basics of machining using a...
After the advice about the horse gear suppliers I’ve found one not too far away that has them on their website so will take a trip there today
Thanks for the suggestions on gorilla and tubtrugs, looks like I might have to order some online as I don’t seem to be able to find them on any of the usual DIY store websites.
I’ll try and get to wickes tomorrow and see what theirs look like.
Thanks again
Thank you but I’d like specific recommendations for any that don’t snap at the sight of a bit of rubble!
Any particular brand or store that sell robust ones?
Anyone know where I can get decent flexible builders tubs?
I borrowed a couple off a friend and all of the handles have snapped, the material is too brittle.
Reading the reviews on screwfix, their tubs seem to have the same issue.
