I'm totally confident in my work and make many parts for people and myself I'm a fabricator by trade which goes from thin steel to large box section, but suspension parts always puts doubt in my mind I know it shouldn't and I'm sure it's a lot better quality than what you see on eBay from China...
I've been asked to make a pair of these I'm thinking of using en14 for the steel bar and machine the thread and welding steel plate on the end with the two holes in, just wondering on peoples opinions and wether to tig or mig them together?
Cheers
Hi
I've got to order some alloy sheets to make some tops for work benches at my work, now what I was thinking was how convenient it would be if it's the correct grade to make a fuel tank out of as well and the correct rods to tig up the corners as well
What grade and thickness would people...
I did think that but wouldn't it cut on the same angle with both cuts
I took the cutter out and found it was a 5/8 cutter in a 16mm collet it was tight but I did swap it for an other cutter which was metric a bit blunt but was a lot better.
This is what it was doing
Ok so having a go with the mill eventually now when I make a cut then take the second one next to it, it will have a step in it high at the start of the second cut and as it's cutting it will cut deeper in to it the transition is about half way. I've checked it's all tight and taken the piece...
Hello all, we have just got a set of rolls at work now I've seen a lot of roller but not where the lower roller is the slip one I can't see how it's of use as the Steel will roll over the top roll?
Been welding stainless for a while but never long runs so this is it 800mm long didn't dare do any more than about 100mm at a time, had some alloy plate on the inside and a bit on the outside to draw the heat away. Happy with the end result for a first go.
This is what I thought the stub isn't solid it's also hollow about 4mm wall thickness and when I tried to weld it on its own still had the same problem.
Can some recommend some settings to try
Cheers for the reply's
