I'm a complete newbie with lathes, but I've only got a 4 jaw chuck. I found taking the iPad out and watching doubleboosts video of setting a 4 jaw chuck really worked for me
I found out the hard way my welding overalls had a small hole in was tig welding the inside of an unpainted trailer and when I got home I had a small sunburn (not sure this is the right word) on my left shoulder
Well I went and got mine today and tbh there not too bad but as I said Mine are for butchering for one off jobs, I don't think they stand up to a load of abuse
a camper van is on my list once the sons a bit older, I like the idea of freedom it gives instead of staying in one place. I fancy going around the uk and Europe in it so we can see lots of places and see some local traditions
I like to have a few cheap sockets, spanners, Allen keys etc about that I don't mind butchering for one off jobs, you wouldn't want to weld your best onto a bit of bar or grind down to fit in a tight spot
When I looked at courses the only ones worth going on cost a lot more then my welder, gas and metal to practice on. Luckily I found this forum and welding tips and tricks on YouTube and they set me straight on a few stumbling blocks I hit early on

right so I am a massive idiot and I'm not quite sure how I did it but I managed to break the tool holder on my Drummond b type, so I'm thinking about getting a quick change jobby, are the cheap ones on eBay any good?
Well got to have something to munch on whilst I figure where I'm putting everything lol and that the tumble dryer not had any problems with the catch yet (touch wood) but still got 3 month warranty on it
