The tranny I am on about only supplies the contacter its not the big welding jobby 230V goes into the tranny and 24V comes out and goes to the A1 A2 cant see where the rectifier might be
It is now the case that the transformer is not producing 24 V DC I get continuity through the dc coil and the ac coil, its getting 230 V AC at the terminals, I may remove it and put it on the bench and test it on a known supply, I think its duff so where can I get a replacement cheers

Can anyone tell me when the contactor energises is when it is to connected to the mains or when the panel switch is operated I have tested the connectors at the torch at machine end and have continuity at the two spring loaded pins when the trigger is pressed, however the contactor does not...
I have been told that the machine was tested before it was sent out as I already returned one for the same issue so why it packs in when i use it is anybodies guess but I am caught between the supplier and the manufacturer, I have agreed to return the machine and once I get word back they have...
It is certainly an current overload as it trips my 16A breaker, so it would appear that the "hot start function" is not dealing with it, and taking out something internal down stream that cant deal with it, you would think there would be front end reset ie as the over current is detected this...
Its a Parweld 162 in fact it the second one as the first died after about 15 seconds, the reply was "your doing something wrong", which is ******** I mean you might do crap welds but the machine wont top itself I can see trading standards getting involved
Well once I dug my heels in about a new machine, Bob Richardson Tools the supplier ( you were spot on with that Tom) got back to me and a new machine is on its way so top marks for the guys and girls at BRT Tools Today
So far less than impressed with customer services at Parweld it was returned and according to them it took 3 days to get to them :fish:, and it will be 1 -2 weeks to repair as their engineers are busy:o, so thats me 3 weeks behind on a trailer project, do they care ? seems not,
So I got set up today and the welder lasted all of 10 mins then went dead no digital display nada, I just hope the supplier Bob richardson Tools and or Parweld do the decent thing and change it without trying to swing the lead, pass the buck, duck the issue ets etc, Whatever the outcome I shall...
