I do always key it after using the wire wheel but I will try it it after shot blasting, I'm waiting on a new water trap before I can shot blast it though, it's only a cheap one from machine mart but should do the job. I tryed it to without the water trap but obviously it kept blocking up.

I did give them a quick scuff up with 80grit sandpaper. But maybe because it's a solid chunk of metal i didn't do enough? I can't imagen it's was contamination because I whent through alot of panel wipe ha.
Maybe I got my ratios wrong maybe?

Yea Imate just having a Google now, sounds like there Chinese, can't find spares as of us yet. I do mainly car stuff but I always to start doing stuff with thicker metal, like building log burners and box section etc

Yea the strengthening plate/cup is spot welded on, I think that bit might be save able if I replace one of the legs that are spot welded on? Problem is once I cut the rota out, there is still the inner skin left.
The car is a 89 volvo 340, there aren't alot of panels available for these cars...
