Will it look a bit odd not having a front door where you would expect there to be one? I can't really visualise the rest of the house from the photos but I think you'd have to enclose it in such a way as the extra bit was aesthetically pleasing and didn't look like you'd bricked up your front...
The safety aspect is a bit concerning I admit, though the small number of reviews I've found suggest they are stable when used properly. I'd go for the bigger scissor lift type ones but can't really justify spending so much to do what amounts to a few jobs.
I was thinking it might be worth a trip but I've just been outside to measure our car and unfortunately it wouldn't fit, based on the CJ Autos dimensions anyway. Had a quick look at pallet quotes but they are prohibitively expensive.
Thanks for the offer though. Maybe a more local member will...
I've been thinking of getting one of the basic carlifters/tilters. Both CJ Autos and Automech do them. We don't have a garage to fit anything like a proper 2 post lift so it will be a use-on-the-drive thing.
I've done a forum search and there are a few comments but does anyone have one? My main...
I've used the HB Body epoxy in small amounts, brushed on. It goes on ok and dries rock hard, with no sign of rust coming through yet. Yes, it's more faff than an aerosol but it's a better product and if you don't use a whole aerosol in one session you often find it won't spray again anyway so...
He did sometimes come across as a bit grumpy on here tbh, but I learned so much from his posts when I first joined the forum. I might go back and reread some later just to enjoy his work again.
I feel privileged that we've had the likes of Langy, Norsa, and Burdekin, on here to share expertise.
I have a fancy Omron bp monitor which sends the reading to your phone. Really useful for looking at the pattern. Mines gone up a bit as I started eating crap at Christmas and haven't really stopped yet. My watch takes bp too but I'm not that confident of its accuracy.
As you get older a bp...
What mpg does something like that get? What are they like to drive? Can't really get my head round driving something like that really, but I suppose it's just practise.
Lidl and Aldi straight to metal paint is really good. Shame it's gone up so much in recent years. Used it on metal gates and bits of my car resto like the boot floor. Still good after several years. Aerosol better than tinned imo.
They had some of the spray cans in my Lidl with the gardening...
Just had a look at our 15 year old Howden units. The fitter didn't use the front holes to join them. As Gaz says they are screwed onto the worktop via the horizontal top plinth. Still rock solid so must be a sturdy enough method.
I can confirm this. The ones prescribed for our pet were the same as are given to humans. To be fair, they 'only' charged around £12, plus appointment fee. The bottle is of course tiny. As it turned into an ongoing eye thing I got them to give me a repeat prescription (cost £20) and I ordered 5...
I've seen the hairdryer method used to tighten baggy leather car seats. Think there are videos on You Tube. More likely fingernail indentations though so not sure heat will work. Maybe fill and redye the whole wheel with a kit...
Companies House listing doesn't say anything, though accounts filed are Mucro Accounts which suggests a small turnover. Perhaps just struggling to make any money so calling it a day.
Bit of an update. I've bought a BMW 2 series coupe. Saw one at a car supermarket that seemed good value, did a bit of reading, and liked it after the test drive. Decided in the end that another big car didn't make sense, certainly not a 3 series GT. This is only a 1.5 but nippy. Only 2 seats in...
I tried a couple of those cheap cartridge adhesives to join 2 small bits of aluminium. They claimed to glue metal but the bond didn't last. Worth paying for a specialist product I reckon.
