Some good advice here. i set up 18months ago had to take a part time job end of last year to help take some pressure off money wise but end up doing 80+ hrs a week. motorsport stuff is good work if you can get it but quite hard to get into.
I saw that job in halesowen bit if a joke really. also went for an interview at a place in droitwich were there overtime rate was £1 an hour more than standard rate.
is shocking the amount of crap welding out there can't help noticing even when im stuck in traffic and lorrys go past im looking at welds lol. i went somewhere the start of the month for welding assesment when i was talking to instructor about vert up he said just do it downhill that was on 10mm...
Found it was better to use the button rather than pedal as machine can run slightly lower amps, for some reason theres a 10 amp difference anyone else have this issue?
thanks thats what i was lead to believe but wanted some advice from welders rather than sales men think i may have to hold out a bit longer until i can get 3 phase then
cheers for input got 63a on board for welder socket. been advised to get power into building checked. my concern with it was that i didnt want a machine that states a 350 amp output when in reality would only be getting 250ish as would be out of pocket and no better off
Dont think a diesel set would be an option due to noise as our building is split we have several offices above us. The price we have had for 3 phase install is 5k which cant afford at the moment. the other thing i was looking into was phase converters,but spoke to someone that makes them and...
machine ive been offered is meant to be 350a with 60% duty cycle. i just wanted to know if they were any good or if they would struggle and end up welding like a bag of poop. last job i had in was 15mm to 30mm fillet which i had to do with a 3.2 rod.
does anyone know of any decent training places in west mids area? want to improve my welding, have spoken to company i work for and there not intrested in providing any training etc. and there doesnt seem to be any decent courses at local college anymore
