hi guys,
quickie for you is there any reason I couldn't TIG mild steel with an argoshield? we have run low on gas and can't get it for tomorrow. Will it work? or is it a terrible idea?
thanks in advance
Al
that is bloody amazing.
can I ask am novice question...
How did you join the copper and stainless and mild parts? I guess you can't just weld it all together.
it's almost impressive that of all the machines in the yard and every one having atleast one plantforce sticker on it, there isn't one in the shot.
nice shines new 30t dumper on the was bay. one of three just getting ready to join the fleet in Hinckley. I'd love to know how much they cost.
oh oh oh, fired up the beast today. Sadly, as I not actually meant to be 'playong' with the kit, I didn't get to chop stuff today. But it was a good change from the welding bay. Nothing special, had someone in to inline bore the main boss holes last week so needed a little rebuild. Which also...
Yes to the diff lock, not the other one though. I joined Suzukiclub UK or something along those lines recently. seems pretty good. I was a regular on Diff lock when my truck was on the road all those years ago.
I can't wait. I'm really hopeful for Saturday being a productive day and being...
funnily enough they are the ones I am most happy with. They have been brilliant today, well one of their guys has. Though they don't hassle me for work which is also very nice... they are the only one that has never infact.
they are just a really long way away from the depot I am in which...
Yeah within reason. The north somerset/Bristol county is I'd say. Not sure it would be worth the travel from Southampton though. ... there are a few reasonable sized suppliers. All useless when it comes to the crunch and all hovering like vultures to get my works account currently. Drives me...
Yeah they are shocking on fuel. I dropped a 5 speed in just before I took it off the road all those years ago so it will be good to see if it makes much difference. Though there are quite alot of engines being dropped into them.
Can't say it's going to be my ever day commuter though so I'm not...
With regard to the up sizing the holes with the mag drill. It can be a pig to do, and it can bend centre pins and break cutters... don't both ... of they bite and the drill jumps, 2000kg magnetic force or not, it will move.
I have found a bilrillaint way around it is to put the original...
I hate operating, I get out of the machine feeling like superman, go to move something that is far to heavy, get back in the machine ashamed of my foolishness and go back to doing it with the digger.
Old stuff was built to last. And it isn't leaking oil, it's marking it's territory.
