Does any one know if there are any grips available with insulation to stop heat being transferred during brazing . For example if I am welding a small nut my metal vice will absorb so much ofthe heat that it takes an age for the nut to get red hot.
I noticed wolf are selling a spot welder for £99. Are they any good. Also I have no experience of spot welding . Do they require replacement electrodes ? if so what are they called ? and where do i find them/
Hi I have a arc welder nd want to braze 2mm wire . Ihere that a carbon arc rod would do this. Are these rods the ones that machine mart sell ?(http://www.machinemart.co.uk/shop/range/details/carbon-arc-rods/path/welding-consumables)
If they are anybody know how to use them . Thanks Ps my arc...
Can you get brazing rods for arc welder. I have tried zip bronze but not sure if its for arc welder. I need something like a silver nichol that wont burn through 3cm galvanised mild steel fencing wire as my normal welding rods do.
Thanks
hi how do you know when you have grinded enough of the galavanised metal off ready for welding . Also do you need a mask when grinding galvanised metal..
arc welding electrode sticking
I am using aldi arc welder off a 13amp plug into standard 13 amp socket so can only go up to 60amp ( i think). I am losing flux through electrode sticking .Whats the best way to trim the electrode? Would a light reactive welding mask help a beginner ?FINALLY...
HI. Newbie here . Purchased cheapy arc welder from aldi when i try to strike arc the electrode sticks to the workpiece so i loose the arc as i have to use force to pull it off. Any suggestions . Thanks
re live arc welder
What i mean is i found out that the aldi mig welder was live wire feeed even before the trigger was pulled but the clarke mig welder did not have a live feed . That is why im trying to find out if the Aldi arc welder was live before the trigger is pressed.
This may sound a daft question but i know some mig welders have a LIVE feed. Is it possible for an arc welder to have any live parts? I am thinking of getting Aldi turbo fan cooled arc welder. Thanks
