Well a quick update and another quick question:
I did spray in the end, few little hiccups like not mixing enough primer and also missing bits after I cleaned up. Bits I missed I quickly mixed up a small bit and used an Artist paint brush, 2k HB Primer sure does paint well with a brush.
I...
Cheers Langy.
Pointless starting a new thread so I'll ask in this one about the Primer/Activator I got.
Just bought a Kapci Primer Kit, came with Primer and Activator/Hardner ( no Thinners came with the kit ). I have got Thinners as I have bought all my paint.
Not 100% if I am going to...
Powder Coat would be my first option, have you been around all the local places and asked to see there work. I went around a few local and was not happy then went a bit of distance and was really happy.
Second to that is 2K, get around the fumes/dust by hand painting and flattening off after...
Last year when I did Celly it was around 30*c so to aid it going off during the night I put it in the spare bedroom, taped off the door :D
Also in the winter -0*c I needed to do some fiberglass work and it will never go off in the cold ( guessing just like 2k paint ) so I shut myself away...
Cheers Guys, my thought for doing it was less time faffing about setting up, over spray creating dust for when I do top coat.
How well does it apply, how many coats in what kind of intervals. Obviously there will be no mist/gripper coat doing it with a roller.
I've stripped all the Celly paint, rattle can primer and been preparing all my panels off the bike. I've only got so much space and was thinking of keeping dust down before I paint so was thinking of roller'ing 2k HB primer on.
I've sanded down at 180 grit dry.
Best roller? Small Cheep...
I've been using Klingspor for a good while now, much better than the el'cheapo stuff out there and usuraly around £5 delivered for 10 full size sheets.
By that then I may be tempted to get shot of the celly since it was me that put it on there. Not sure if the new green Nitromorse will remove celly, I'm guessing it will.
Probably exactly the same answer as putting clear over but trying to save myself a little time here.
Can I use the original Celly flattened and a 2k solid colour over the top, I cannot clear over the celly as there are to many areas that have chips or need a little touch up.
Wow, that's some work there and I am guessing it looks even better for real and not in a photo. Gives people like me allot of inspiration although I'll never be able to lay paint as good as that.
There was not allot of information about the 1k clear but it seems like there now is a flaw with it. Glad I am not the only one who has seen this problem.
Thing with the 1k clear is it's really thin, like spraying just thinners so because of that I built up a few coats.
Also with my...
The cracking was more like crazy paving, I thought it was going to be deep but from sanding back it's on the top of the surface ( guessing because I 1k cleared over quite fresh Celly )
Sanding back though the paint seams tough as old boots so again guessing after a good over a year it should...
I know it's not the done thing but I have a small issue and it would save me allot of time, money and bother. Can I 2k Clear over Celly?
Reason is:
Well last year I sprayed my bike with Celly, on top of the Celly I sprayed 1k Upol Smart Clear to give it a nice glossy deep glass look, it...
Lot's and lot's of reading.
That's the thing with mine, a gas fire did come out but the house originally was built for a coal/wood fire and only went over to gas back in the day ( probably sometime in the 80's ) I grew up not far from here in slightly new'er house and we had coal into the mid...
Been google'ing endlessly and cannot come up with a definitive guide or answers to having a Multi'fuel stove in the house.
My house originally had a coal/log fire and the chimney is all there in place and the house is very structurally sound.
Then back in the old days of gas central...
Day off to do a few things and TYPICAL Brittish weather,,,its Peee'ing down. Cannot get it out to do any good photos, take it for a quick once over or anything.......
Some poor photos of roughly where I am. Just a once over needed round the block, Mot & some decent photos...
